Job Description

GE Vernova Consulting Services is seeking to hire a Sustainability Analyst to join its growing Carbon Management Consulting (CMC) practice area. The role will be pivotal in providing comprehensive and tailored solutions to GE Vernova’s global client base to support them throughout their decarbonization journey.

As part of an experienced team of consultants, the Sustainability Analyst will focus on tracking environmental regulations and major sustainability reporting frameworks across target markets and industries for GE Vernova, provide insight into customer sustainability maturity, decarbonization plans and progress towards targets, generating insights into potential technology and consulting engagements with customers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze decarbonization and emissions neutrality pledges for target GE Vernova customers. Evaluate customer decarbonization strategy maturity based on a solid understanding of regulatory and voluntary drivers.
  • Analyze and interpret customers' environmental disclosures across major reporting standards and initiatives. Develop and maintain a comprehensive database tracking key customers progress towards declared targets.
  • Utilize data to benchmark customers against industry leaders, sectoral benchmarks, and global/regional benchmarks as applicable.
  • Evaluate climate-related risks and opportunities, including both transition and physical impacts. Identify and recommend initiatives to mitigate risks and enhance sustainability and resilience for customers.
  • Stay updated on decarbonization and sustainability regulatory updates. Monitor major voluntary sustainability reporting frameworks in key markets.
  • Develop proactive insights into potential areas of engagement with customers, assisting GE Vernova in accelerating customer sustainability initiatives.
  • Participate in customer consulting engagements, contributing to the development of proposals and consulting scope of work. Execute studies, present results, and provide recommendations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on sustainability reporting regulations and voluntary frameworks to help customers improve their sustainability and transition performance in areas of engagement.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in sustainability, energy, environmental studies, engineering, business, public policy, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ESG reporting strategies, sustainability disclosures, and other communications aligned with emerging voluntary frameworks and mandatory regulations.

What will make you stand out (Desired Qualifications)

  • Master’s Degree in sustainability, energy, environmental studies, business, public policy, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform policy analysis, develop frameworks/strategies to support customers achieve compliance.
  • Experience with climate change topics including GHG assessments, Science-Based Targets setting per SBTi, net zero strategy and decarbonization roadmaps.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyze complex data sets
  • Experience in management consulting or environmental consulting firms, is highly advantageous.
  • Experience in public domain and cross-sector sustainability strategy design is highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity of environmental policy and regulations in key GE Vernova global markets (US, EU, UK, Canada, Japan, Australia,)
  • Team Worker with strong interpersonal and leadership skills, positive attitude and target oriented
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Willingness to work in a global matrixed environment
  • Innovative, open minded and collaborative
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or LEAN skillset
