We are seeking a dynamic professional for the following position:
Position Overview:
The Team Lead will be responsible for providing strategic guidance and designing programs in the WASH sector, with a particular focus on promoting community-led implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). This role requires expertise in participatory planning, monitoring of WASH programs, and integrating water sector needs into Gram Panchayat Development Plans (GPDP) to enhance water security.
Given the significant impact of water on women's quality of life, the role will also emphasize gender-sensitive planning, women’s empowerment, and gender-responsive budgeting in Gram Panchayats. Proficiency in using software, mobile applications, and social media is essential. Professionals with work experience in Madhya Pradesh (MP) and Chhattisgarh (CG) will be preferred. Key Responsibilities:
1. Program Strategy & Implementation:
- Support the field team in designing participatory planning and monitoring strategies.
- Engage with government functionaries to ensure effective convergence of efforts.
- Promote community-led Operation and Maintenance (O&M) models for sustainable water governance.
2. Capacity Building & Knowledge Generation:
- Design and implement capacity-building initiatives to enhance community and government capacities.
- Conduct research and contribute to knowledge generation to strengthen existing government programs.
- Promote gender-responsive planning by applying participatory approaches in Gram Panchayat and Gram Sabha processes.
3. Organizational Management:
- Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making within Samarthan.
- Ensure efficient program and financial management.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment across programs and operations.
- Ensure legal compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
4. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, donors, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
- Represent Samarthan in meetings, conferences, and forums on water governance and community development.
- Advocate for policy changes and program improvements based on community needs.
5. Resource Mobilization:
- Develop fundraising proposals and engage with donors.
- Establish effective project and financial management systems for program efficiency.
6. Team Management:
- Recruit, supervise, and develop staff.
- Foster a productive and motivating work environment.
- Organize regular planning meetings with senior managers for strategic decision-making.
7. Financial Oversight:
- • Monitor budget utilization and ensure high standards of accountability.
- • Ensure compliance with legal and financial reporting requirements.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Educational Background:
- Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Management, Environmental Science, Public Administration, Gender Studies, or a related field from a reputed institution.
2. Professional Experience:
- 5-7 years of experience in program and organizational management.
- Proven expertise in water conservation, gender development, local governance, and system strengthening.
- Experience with Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and other government programs.
- Strong understanding of government entitlement programs and community development initiatives.
3. Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in project management tools, spreadsheets, and social media platforms. • Strong communication skills in English and Hindi (spoken and written).
4. Specialization (Preferred in one or more areas):
- Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), Watershed Management (NRM), Health, or Skill Development.
- Governance, Social Accountability, and Transparency.
- Women’s empowerment, gender-responsive planning, and budgeting.
- Training, documentation, and communication.
Compensation:
Annual package will be around 9-10 lakh per annum with benefits (negotiable). However, the salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Samarthan is committed to equal opportunity employment. To enhance gender balance in senior management, women are encouraged to apply.
