About the Program

AIF’s Livelihoods program envisions a world where poor and vulnerable communities have access to dignified work opportunities that empower them with sustainable livelihoods.

Since 2006, the Livelihoods Program has directly and indirectly served 2.20 million people from vulnerable communities. Leveraging technology to provide financial and market linkages, knowledge, skills and dignified work opportunities, the program helps communities secure jobs, manage enterprises and make a respectable living.

Through its flagship programs—Market Aligned Skills Training (MAST) and Ability Based Livelihood Empowerment (ABLE)—AIF Livelihoods has provided program support to 825,960 disadvantaged youth, women and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) and impacted 343,727 livelihoods.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Core Responsibilities – 60%

  • Onboard and orient candidates on AIF’s LMS portal.
  • Design and deliver engaging training sessions tailored to participants' specific needs in life skills, digital skills or trade-specific areas.
  • Employ diverse instructional techniques to accommodate different learning styles and maximize participant comprehension and retention.
  • Develop and adapt training materials, curriculum and resources to ensure relevance and effectiveness in addressing skill gaps.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages active participation, collaboration and skill application.
  • Provide personalized guidance and feedback to participants to enhance their learning experience and skill development.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to assess participant progress, identify challenges and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure retention of candidates in the training program and monitor dropouts.
  • Develop and administer assessments or quizzes to evaluate candidates' learning progress and knowledge retention.
  • Call absentee candidates daily and counsel them.
  • Ensure a highly engaging and enriching learning environment that enables candidates to fully participate in learning sessions and achieve the best possible scores.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies related to the respective skill domain.
  • Contribute to monitoring and evaluation by collecting data, analyzing outcomes and generating insights to inform programmatic decisions.
  • Cultivate partnerships with local organizations, employers and educational institutions to facilitate job placements, apprenticeships or further education opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of training activities, participant achievements and program impact.
  • Ensure daily maintenance of lesson plans and timely delivery of the curriculum.
  • Handle student queries related to training and placement in a timely manner.
  • Conduct and analyze the endline assessment on AIF LMS.

2. Mobilization – 20%

  • Support the conduct of baseline assessments.
  • Assess and evaluate candidates based on their understanding post-mobilization.
  • Support training counselling for mobilized candidates as required by addressing their questions and concerns and providing guidance.

3. Placement – 20%

  • Conduct career guidance and job-readiness workshops covering resume building, interview skills and workplace etiquette.
  • Facilitate mock interviews and provide feedback to help candidates improve their interview performance.
  • Monitor candidates' progress during the placement phase and provide support as needed, ensuring all candidates participate in the interview process.
  • Conduct follow-up sessions and gather feedback from the placement team for rejected candidates to identify areas for improvement.
  • Support candidate retention after placement.

Qualification & Experience

Trainer – Digital Skills (IT/ITES)

Qualification: Graduate / B.Tech
Experience: 3–4 years

Trainer – Life/Soft Skills

Qualification: Graduate
Experience: 4–5 years

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Well-informed about labor market trends, employer needs and best practices in career services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the local language, both written and spoken.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office – Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel – and LMS.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Openness to students and colleagues from a range of cultures and languages.
  • Experience with technologies and best practices for instructional manuals.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all levels of management.
  • Organized and able to create multiple timelines, budgets and schedules.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently.
