About the Organization

The World Monuments Fund India (WMFI) is seeking a motivated and experienced Conservation Architect to support and oversee multiple heritage conservation projects in Hyderabad. The role involves on-site management, coordination with consultants and contractors, and close collaboration with the WMFI Project Manager. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in architectural conservation, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to manage projects in alignment with WMFI’s conservation standards.

Job Description

The World Monuments Fund India (WMFI) is seeking a motivated and experienced Conservation Architect to support and oversee multiple heritage conservation projects in Hyderabad. The role involves on-site management, coordination with consultants and contractors, and close collaboration with the WMFI Project Manager. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in architectural conservation, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to manage projects in alignment with WMFI’s conservation standards.

Job Responsibilities

Project Oversight and Coordination

  • Oversee day-to-day site operations across multiple conservation projects in Hyderabad.
  • Monitor progress, quality, and compliance with approved conservation standards and specifications.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality control measures at all project sites.

Technical and Administrative Support

  • Assist the WMFI Project Manager in reviewing progress reports and verifying deliverables.
  • Represent WMFI in meetings with government agencies, partner organizations, and community stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with consultants, site architects, and contractors to ensure timely project execution.
  • Contribute to defining project timelines, budgets, MoUs, and scopes of work.
  • Support the verification of contractor bills and materials on site.
  • Maintain comprehensive site documentation, including minutes, progress reports, and photographic records.

Community Engagement & Capacity Building

  • Facilitate community engagement activities and stakeholder consultations.
  • Assist in organizing workshops and training sessions for professionals, artisans, and local communities.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Master’s in Architectural Conservation or Heritage Management preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience in conservation of historic buildings.
  • Understanding of heritage conservation principles, traditional materials, and site challenges.
  • Ability to manage multi-stakeholder projects, including site-level coordination and documentation.
  • Strong project management, budgeting, and coordination skills.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office Suite; familiarity with project management tools.
  • Verbal and written communication skills with the ability to produce clear reports and presentations.
  • Fluency in English; working knowledge of Telugu and/or Hindi preferred.
