About the Organization
Founded in 2009, Centre for Equity and Inclusion (CEQUIN) works in the states of North India, to create gender equitable communities, with a rights-based and sports for development approach. Our main thematic areas of working are ending violence against women and girls, leadership, health and wellbeing, economic empowerment and education. To accomplish our goal, we build collective leadership of girls and women, along with other stakeholders such as men and boys, local communities, educational institutions, civil society organisations, local representatives, funders, think tanks, government, media and the private sector, to unleash transformational change.
Job Description
- Support the Manager - Programs & Implementation and the Management team, in planning and implementing CEQUIN’s programs across Mewat, Alwar and newer locations in the same region.
- Assist the team to conduct, coordinate and oversee training programs, sessions, workshops and other program activities with communities, adolescent boys and adolescent girls.
- Organize and conduct training workshops and sessions with youth and community, focussed on men and boys under the Mardon Wali Baat program in communities/ schools across rural and urban geographies
- Mobilisation and collectivisation of stakeholders including girls, boys, mothers and community members, schools, partners, local representatives, at large for the programs
- Implement and oversee all outreach activities related to the education vertical : to identify, enrol and retain adolescents in schools, working with school authorities and the community for the same.
- Mentor cadres of community volunteers ( primarily young men and boys) and peer educators (boys and girls) to support and take forward CEQUIN’s work on gender equity in their communities.
- Conduct community level advocacy campaigns on ground and online in partnership with girls, boys and community members to highlight the importance of gender equality and education
- Systematic and effective program documentation through processes such as MIS/excel etc, to capture impact of the ongoing programs ( including programmatic reports as per funder guidelines )
- Support partnership process and build strong presence and relationships through meetings, coordination and consultation with project partners, beneficiaries and stakeholders
- Research and maintain a database of organisations working with men and boys across the country to identify best practises and build networks for cross learning purposes
- Represent CEQUIN at different forums to amplify voices of girls and boys on gender equality and build networks with other stakeholders in this space
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Post Graduate/ Graduate in Social Work/ Social Science and/or other relevant fields - Min 2-4 years of work experience in the development sector/ community based organization
- Knowledge of gender, masculinities, human rights and the development sector
- Preferably Male candidate
- Prior experience of working with marginalised communities, especially with adolescent and youth boys and girls, experience in youth leadership, gender empowerment and education programs
- Knowledge and experience of issues such as gender, patriarchy, masculinities and human rights will be an advantage
- Prior experience of facilitating sessions with boys, girls and communities on above issues, in particularly engaging with boys to build solidarity and allyship for gender equality and girls’ rights
- Experience of program documentation/ MIS, writing impactful Report
- Experience of executing community level events and campaigns to amplify gender equality and voices of girls and boys
- Excellent communication ( oral and written) skills in Hindi and English - Ability to use desktop/laptop for documentation ( particularly Microsoft office word, excel etc)
- Attention to detail and process orientation
- Conscientiousness, discipline, rigor to achieve targets and ability to take/give feedback
- Ability and willingness to work in a team with people from different communities and backgrounds
- Ability to multitask, work independently and be resourceful
- Demonstrates and safeguards ethics and integrity particularly while working with adolescents
- Must be able to travel to and within state field offices (preference if person has their own transport like a motorbike)
