About the Organization
The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is working towards building a healthier India. It is helping to address the limited institutional and systems capacity in India by strengthening education and training, advancing research and technology and facilitating policy and practice in the area of Public Health. PHFI is headquartered in New Delhi with national presence through its constituent units of regional Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs) and Centers of Applied Research in core public health themes. The Foundation, established in 2006 as a public private initiative, is governed by an independent board comprising of senior government officials, eminent Indian and International academic and leaders, civil society representatives and corporate leaders.
Job Description
The role involves providing technical support for the development and delivery of competency-based curriculum and teaching materials for the Master of Public Health (MPH) program. The position requires close coordination with partners and stakeholders to finalize academic and reference materials. The incumbent will contribute to drafting project proposals, developing manuscripts, preparing technical reports, and supporting various documentation needs. Responsibilities also include conducting situational analyses in the health sector, reviewing epidemiological data, and offering technical inputs for project implementation. The role further involves providing hands-on training to project personnel on public health aspects, participating in internal project review meetings, undertaking project-related travel, and carrying out additional tasks as assigned by the Supervisor/PI.
Job Responsibilities
As a Consultant -Public Health provide technical assistance to the PI/ supervisor to carry out some of the following responsibilities:
- Development of competencies-based curriculum, teaching material for the Masters of Public Health program.
- Facilitate in development of new project proposals, plan of action for developing draft manuscripts.
- Conducting situational assessment, primary and secondary data analysis or any other related task.
- Coordination with Inter/Intra department and project stakeholders and partners.
- Undertake any other activities / tasks as assigned by the supervisors/ PI.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
Essential:
- MD (Community Medicine / Preventive & Social Medicine / Community Health or PhD in Public Health with Masters in Public Health (MPH), MBBS or BDS at under graduation level.
Experience:
Essential:
- Around 3 – 5 years of work experience in public health/ research/ project management; in development sector
Desirable:
- Work experience of Public Health Practise at National/Regional levels and working with multiple stakeholders.
- Academic/Research Experience.
- 3-5 Research publications.
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) along with the work experience of 3-5 years of work in related areas.
- Ability to work in cross cultural teams.
- Ability to plan, conceptualize and organize.
- Ability to innovate/ “think tank” for the organization
- Ability to do the data analysis, report writing, research proposal writing, effectively work on develop of manuscript for publication.
