About the Organization
The M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) was established in 1988 as a not-for-profit trust. MSSRF was envisioned and founded by Professor M. S. Swaminathan. The Foundation aims to accelerate the use of modern science for agricultural and rural development throughthe development and dissemination of technology to improve the lives and livelihoods of tribal and rural communities. MSSRF follows a pro-poor, pro-women, and pro-nature approach and applies appropriate science and technology options to address practical problems faced by rural populations in agriculture, food, and nutrition. MSSRF is present in six states of India.
Job Description/Responsibilities
The Development Assistant will support the successful implementation of the project. This position will focus on field coordination, community mobilization, and providing field support to ensure the smooth and effective delivery of project activities.
Key Responsibilities Ares
- Coordinate and facilitate field activities, including community meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor project progress and address any challenges.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community members, local government officials, and other stakeholders.·
Community Mobilisation:
- Facilitate community participation in project planning, implementation, and monitoring.
- Identify and address community needs and concerns related to the project.
- Promote community ownership and sustainability of project outcomes.
- Support the coordinator for the beneficiary selection and stakeholder management·
Reporting:
- Preparation and submission of accurate and timely updates of field-level data entries
- Ensure compliance with donor regulations and reporting requirements.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Post-Graduation in Social Work / Rural Development / Development Studies
Experience desirable
- A minimum of 2 years of experience is required, and preference will be given to native candidates.
