About the Organization

Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (India) is a non-denominational, non-government development organization. AKRSP(I) works as a catalyst for the betterment of rural communities by providing direct support to local communities. AKRSP(I) is active in over 3255 villages of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Maharashtra. It has impacted lives of over 3.5 million people from marginalised sections of society. Over 80% of the households impacted by AKRSP(I)'s work belong to marginalised communities like tribals, dalits, and minorities. Over 60% of beneficiaries are women who form a core group for program interventions.

Job Description

The Training Center Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating all activities of the training center, ensuring smooth implementation of training programs, mobilizing participants, maintaining records, and supporting trainers and trainees. The role requires excellent organizational skills, community engagement abilities, and commitment to delivering impactful training for youth, women, and community members.

Job Responsibilities

Training Coordination

  • Plan and coordinate training sessions as per the project schedule.
  • Coordinate with other project leaders to prepare the yearly calendar for mandatory and staff development/improvement training.
  • Support trainers in the delivery of training modules.
  • Create and help design training modules on gender, agriculture, social mobilization, PRA, and other thematic areas.
  • Ensure timely availability of training materials and resources.
  • Monitor participant attendance, progress, and performance.

Community Mobilization & Trainee Support

  • Conduct outreach activities to mobilize trainees from nearby communities.
  • Counsel and guide trainees on career pathways and training relevance.
  • Address participant concerns and maintain high retention rates.
  • Create awareness of internship programs, induction programs for new Staff, and orient them on the core values of AKRSP(I).

Center Administration & Reporting

  • Maintain attendance, trainee records, and training-related documentation.
  • Prepare and share weekly/monthly reports with the project team.
  • Maintain budget utilization and expense reports for the training center.
  • Ensure proper, timely, and error-free billing, collection reports, payment reports, and other required reports.
  • Oversee repair and maintenance of the training center facilities, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Ensure proper upkeep of training aids, classrooms, and utilities.

Stakeholder & Placement Linkages

  • Liaise with local institutions, government departments, NGOs, and industry partners.
  • Explore opportunities with other NGOs/Government agencies to conduct training at the center, prepare a year-round calendar, and ensure optimal utilization of resources.
  • Facilitate exposure visits, guest lectures, and job placement support.
  • Build linkages for entrepreneurship and self-employment opportunities for trainees.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Masters in Social Work, Rural Development, Education, Management, or related field
  • Experience: 5 to 6 years of experience in training, education, or community development projects

Skills & Competencies required

Skills:

  • Experience in skill development or livelihood promotion programs preferred.
  • Knowledge of crop management, irrigation technologies, soil & water conservation, and FPO strengthening, Gender and government schemas.
  • Proficiency in local language and MS Office/Excel.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Strong facilitation and community mobilization skills.
  • Good organizational and record-keeping abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Budget management and reporting skills.
  • Facility management and maintenance oversight.
  • Ability to engage with community members and motivate youth.
  • Team player with problem-solving and multitasking skills.
  • Timely preparation of annual training calendar and reports.
  • Resource optimization and cost-effective use of training center facilities.
  • Quality and timely maintenance of training center infrastructure.
  • Trainee satisfaction, retention, and placement/self-employment outcomes.
  • Accuracy and timeliness of financial documentation and reporting.
