1. Introduction 

Founded in 2006, Tech Mahindra Foundation works extensively on the vision of ‘Empowerment  through Education’ with the key focus areas - Education, Employability and Disability to empower all  to Rise. We are trying to bring social change and touch lives through 150+ projects with the help of  90+ partners in 12 locations across India. Disability and Women Empowerment are the cross-cutting  theme and the Foundation mandates that 10% of all its beneficiaries are Persons with Disabilities and  over 50% women beneficiaries 

Tech Mahindra Foundation is seeking proposals from competent market research organizations to  conduct a comprehensive study on international job opportunities for allied healthcare professionals  trained in India. The objective of this research is to identify key markets, demand trends, and probable  barriers for trained allied healthcare professionals looking for employment overseas.  

2. Background 

Tech Mahindra Foundation (TMF) has been operating in the skill development space for many years  now. The first SMART Academy was set up in Delhi in Healthcare and currently we have 12 Academies  in 3 sectors: 5 in Healthcare, 4 in Logistics and 3 in Digital Technologies (DT). The five Healthcare  Academies are in Delhi, Mohali, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Pune. Across our Academies, students are  trained to the highest possible standards manifested from a uniquely drafted course curriculum that  is prepared as per the latest industry requirements. Currently, these SMART Healthcare Academies  offer five two-year diploma courses (certified by the Indian Medical Association, Jamia Hamdard  University and Maharashtra State Board of Skill, Vocational Education & Training) and few shorter  certificate courses (certified by the Healthcare Sector Skills Council). In addition, our academies are  the international training centre for American Heart Association (AHA) and Licensed Curriculum  partner for AAPC.  


3. Scope of Work 

The selected firm will be responsible for the following tasks: 

a) Market Study

  • Identify key global markets with high requirements for nursing and allied healthcare  professionals along with a description of why the local markets are unable to meet the  demand. 
  • Analyse the demand trends by job role and job opportunities in these markets along with  expected remuneration. 
  • Evaluate the credentials, and skills required by employers in these markets.
  • Mandatory educational qualifications required to work in these markets. 
  • Licensing requirements and qualification tests required to become eligible to work as allied  healthcare professionals in these markets along with the cost and partner institutions for  these tests. 
  • Make a list of at least 10 employers across 5 geographies willing to hire allied healthcare  professionals from India (and / or nurses from India) alongside a description of the exact  process of selection, hiring, travel, local support, and remuneration. 
  • Regulatory landscape in the 5 identified geographies. 

 

b) Barriers and Challenges

  • Identify potential barriers faced by nursing and allied healthcare professionals trained in India  in securing international jobs including language barriers and cultural differences. 
  • Provide recommendations to overcome these barriers. 

c) Competitive Analysis

  • Analyse the competitive landscape including names of at least 10 other organizations  attempting to place allied healthcare professionals / nurses globally, their financials,  description of their operations, and experience of primary actors - the professionals and the  employers. 
  • SWOT Analysis of professionals trained in India as compared to other global counterparts. 

d) Recommendations

  • Provide recommendations to improve employability of allied healthcare professionals in  international markets. 
  • Suggest strategies for Indian training institutions to align their courses with international  standards in emerging markets. 
  • Identify potential partnerships with international healthcare institutions, recruitment  agencies or professional bodies that can facilitate job placements. 
  • Recommend job roles in high demand in emerging markets.

6. Evaluation Criteria

a) Experience: Relevant experience of the firm and project team. 

b) Methodology: Feasibility of the proposed research methodology. 

c) Proposed Budget: Cost-effectiveness of the proposal.
