The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH, often simply shortened to GIZ, is the main German development agency. It is headquartered in Bonn and Eschborn and provides services in the field of international development cooperation and international education work.

Job Responsibilities

Responsible for upscaling of proven solutions and innovations from other projects.
Responsible for preparation of the appraisal mission of the BMZ initiative “CompensAction”.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

University degree in environmental economics, agricultural economics or general economics combined with agroecology (e.g. post grade).
Minimum 2-4 years professional experience in applied agroecology with focus on horticulture.
Practical experience in agroecological approaches with focus on horticulture
Experience in development cooperation and particularly GIZ is preferred.
Experience in quantitative and qualitative assessment of measures to be upscaled incl. the CYMMIT tool
Knowledge of agroecological approaches and the challenges of transformation towards sustainable food systems is a strong asset.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to present the rationale for agroecological measures to audiences in an understandable manner.
Very good self-organization, flexibility, and ability to work under time pressure.
Very good knowledge in the use of information (MS Office) and communication software as well as experience in preparing factual reports and analyses.
Excellent verbal and writing skills in English and Hindi.
Ability to collaborate effectively with team members from diverse backgrounds.
Knowledge about internalization of externalities and true cost accounting
Gender and diversity sensitive
very good knowledge of excel and other relevant software.
Proven written and spoken experience in development of narratives in English language that showcase complex topics.
