The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH, often simply shortened to GIZ, is the main German development agency. It is headquartered in Bonn and Eschborn and provides services in the field of international development cooperation and international education work.

Job Responsibilities

• Technical contribution on the topic of sustainable management of cotton, tea and spices.
• Support in the areas of monitoring and evaluation, communication / public relations as well as in day-to-day business.
• Preparation and documentation of internal and external workshops.
• Knowledge management, research and processing of background information on sustainable agricultural commodities and processing.
• Support in communication with Ministries, partner brands and other stakeholders in India.
• Close cooperation and networking with colleagues in the other partner countries of the global project as well as with colleagues from other projects in India.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Postgraduate degree in relevant discipline (arts, sciences, commerce etc.) from a recognised university or institution.
• Any relevant certificate courses in communication/ project management with a focus on M&E would be an added advantage.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic communication and project management.
• Prior experience of working in multilateral, bilateral and other development organisations will be an added advantage.
• Good experience in working with international teams with a cooperative teamwork approach.
• Experience in writing press articles or other communication texts, script writing, etc.
• Exceptional communication skills with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Outstanding presentation and documentation abilities.
• Strong proficiency in IT technologies, including MS Office.
• Willingness to be flexible in a continuously changing area of responsibility.
• General willingness to also take on, to an appropriate extent, activities not included in the scope of the job description.
• Fluent in English and Hindi, written and spoken.
• Highly motivated and committed.
• Ability to travel domestically and willing to frequently travel to project sites.
• Must be willing to work in accordance with the corporate values of GIZ.
• High degree of initiative, creativity, pronounced sense of commitment and open to work in an agile team, with horizontal structures, across countries and adaptive leadership orientation.
• Has sound sector-specific knowledge.
• Has specific specialist know-how needed for internal and external services.
• Keeps specialist knowledge up to date.
• Seeks to broaden expertise.
