Key Details:
- Position: Associate - Data Analyst
- Location: Kolkata, India (Onsite)
- Contract Duration: 1 year (renewable based on performance and funding availability)
- Reports to: Country Director
Position Overview:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Data Analyst to support the Country Director in tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), monitoring program progress, and analysing the impact of our initiatives. The role will involve creating dashboards, conducting data analysis, and presenting insights through high-quality presentations and visualizations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for using data to drive meaningful change in underserved communities.
Core Roles and Responsibilities (70%)
- Collect, clean, validate, and manage data from various program areas.
- Design and maintain efficient databases for seamless data storage and retrieval.
- Perform statistical analyses to identify trends and program impacts.
- Develop and update interactive dashboards and data visualization tools.
- Provide actionable insights through detailed reports and presentations.
- Support impact assessments for various interventions.
- Collaborate with program teams to understand data needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Ensure high standards of data quality, accuracy, and integrity.
- Document data management processes and methodologies.
Link Responsibilities (15%)
- Coordinate with multiple departments to streamline data collection and reporting processes.
- Assist in developing tools and methodologies for effective data collection.
- Support the preparation of proposals, donor reports, and impactful presentations.
Systemic Responsibilities (15%)
- Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive data.Provide regular updates to the Country Director on program performance and progress.
- Stay updated on emerging data analysis tools, techniques, and best practices.
- Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data management.
- Candidate Profile:
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Data Science, or a related field.
- 3–4 years of professional experience in data analysis or a similar role.
- Proficiency in:
- Advanced MS Excel
- SQL
- Python/R
- Data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
- Experience in the development sector is preferred but not mandatory.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Expertise in statistical analysis and research methodologies.
- Proficiency in creating compelling data visualizations and presentations.
- Sound understanding of database management systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to simplify complex data insights for diverse audiences.
- Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational skills.
- Familiarity with survey tools and mobile data collection methodologies
Location:
- Based in Kolkata, West Bengal.
- Occasional travel to project sites in Bihar, Jharkhand and Darjeeling may be required.
Desired Qualities:
- Understanding of the social development sector.
- Experience in managing large datasets.
- Knowledge of impact evaluation frameworks and methodologies.
- Familiarity with mobile data collection platforms.
- A collaborative team player capable of working independently.
Remuneration:
Salary for the position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
