About the Organization
Established in 2007, the National Health Systems Resource Centre, a premier Think Tank for MoHFW, is mandated to assist in policy and strategy development in the provision and mobilization of technical assistance to the states and in capacity building for the Ministry of Health.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct highly specialized genotypic analysis of AMR pathogens under the program.
- To conduct confirmation of EQAS isolates and AMR alerts submitted by network sites.
- To perform target sequencing for alert/EQAS isolates for AMR determinants and molecular typing.
- To develop multiplex PCR for AMR pathogens
- To develop SoPs for genome surveillance of AMR under the National Programme
- To perform antimicrobial susceptibility testing of isolates, stock resistant isolates.
- To practice good lab practices including biosafety and appropriate biomedical waste disposal.
- To maintain essential records in the lab, support WHONET entry of data.
- Perform other duties as required in the interest of the programme and any other work/activity assigned from time to time.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Master degree (M.Tech/ M. Sc/ MS) in Bioinformatics or Biotechnology/Life Science with specialization in Bioinformatics from a recognized University.
Experience (Years):
- At least one year experience after M.Tech/MS Degree or 3 years after M.Sc degree in the field of bioinformatics as evident from publications in scientific journals of high international repute.
Desirable:
Candidate holding PhD degree on a relevant topic related to relevant field from a recognized University will be given preference.
- Strong understanding of bioinformatics concepts (e.g. alignment, variant calling Methods, AMR finder, Sequence type etc) needed in the formulation of workflow/ pipelines for the analysis of Next generation sequencing data.
- Candidates with strong background in biostatistics and bioinformatics involving NGS Data analysis will be given preference.
- Candidates must be comfortable with the Linux operating system and command line interface.
Salary
Rs 75,000/month consolidated. No additional allowances are permissible
