Job Description

The candidate should have a sound working knowledge of sustainability and the concept of circular economy in the context of plastic packaging. The candidate should have demonstrable experience in the context of plastics in

• coordination and management,
• writing documents, and
• analysing and interpreting data

 Interested candidates will be asked to provide supporting evidence for these aspects. The incumbent will also contribute to other aspects of the Centre’s work on circular economy and resource efficiency and may have to take on responsibility of other tasks, as required. Verbal skills and logical, critical thinking and reasoning are essential for this work and will be tested as part of the evaluation/screening of the candidate.

Job Responsibilities

• Coordination of day-to-day running of the project
• Research and analysis of collected secondary data
• Keeping abreast of developments on plastic and plastic packaging
• Conceptualise, execute, and facilitate multi-stakeholder meetings and workshops
• Supervision of project-related on-ground activities

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• A master’s degree in a relevant field such as environmental studies, environmental science, sustainable development, or economics.
• Minimum seven years of demonstrated experience in related positions of increasing responsibility
• Relevant experience on the topics of circular economy, material science and business models.

Skills

• Sound understanding of circular economy on plastics in the Indian context
• Strong research and analytical skills with proficiency in Excel
• Ability to communicate scientific and technical knowledge on plastics to different stakeholders
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English with ability to summarise and communicate insights into briefs, reports and presentations
• Ability to adapt and deliver under tight deadlines in a professional environment
• Ability to effectively work in a team while being able to independently drive research if, and when, needed.
