Maitrayana, (meaning kindness, benevolence, good will, compassion) is a Section 8 (not-for-profit) company that uses sport to achieve gender equality.

Maitrayana leverages the power of sport to create ecosystems that empower girls and women to fulfil their potential. The pillars of Maitrayana’s work are: 1) enabling leadership in Adolescent girls and young women, 2) synergising communities to support adolescent girls and young women in becoming changemakers in their community, 3) forging collaborations with the government, businesses, NGOs to create an ecosystem.

Maitrayana implements the Young People’s Initiative (YPI) a sport for development programme that empowers adolescent girls and young women to realise their potential. The focus of the YPI interventions is on providing access to and safe spaces in sport for adolescent girls and young women in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. YPI’s economic empowerment (EE) programme works with young women to improve their access to economic opportunities. This programme wants to achieve that young women pursue their economic empowerment goals by acquiring knowledge, skills, attitudes, behaviour, experience and support from mentors, parents and the industry to achieve their goals.

We are looking for an individual who is excited to contribute to building the organisation based on the values integrity, transparency, respect and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

1.      Strategic Implementation of Programme

  • Scoping new school and community sites as per the program requirement and organize outreach in community for participant recruitment and attendance.
  • Session delivery monitoring of respective sites on daily basis and make timelines accordingly. Around 6-7 sites both is schools and communities.
  • Rapport building with all the stakeholders and doing structured intervention with them over the year.
  • Organising events at their respective sites and coordinating with other coaches to organize events and tournaments
  • Ensuring availability of require equipment on the ground or sports kit for their team
  • Ensuring Child protection is followed as per Maitrayana’s CPP in all the sites.

2.      Supervision of staff

  • Keeping your team updated and trained on the current life skills curriculum, play based games, and netball skills/rules along with Older girls sessions, Parents session, Samithi’s and CPP.
  • Manage and mentor their teams and brief the city-coordinator (Coaches, Jr. coaches and CSCs)
  • Prepare session plans with Coaches, Jr. coaches and CSCs and discuss the life skills/netball topic in detail and ensure support to them to execute it on ground
  • Meet their team of CSCs and team of peer leader for site updates and mentoring and write a written report of the meeting
  • Identify potential peer leaders, CSCs, Jr. coaches, Coaches and develop leadership skills in them
  • Ensure team meetings are being conducted every week.
  • Build the capacity of their team and build leadership in young people

3.      Office management

  • Contribute to the overall smooth functioning and maintenance of the city office, maintaining the expenses of respective sites.
  • Prepare monthly budget required for the implementation on respective sites and submit it to the coordinator.
  • Prepare the monthly bill summary sheet and submit it to the City Coordinator along with the monthly bills

4.      Reporting and Documentation

  • Collecting and monitoring the Salesforce data (participant data, attendance, baselines, end-lines) of their respective sites and meet the targets for data feeding/updates and report it to city-coordinator
  • Write monthly reports and keep a check of the session plans, attendance registers, peer audits related to their sites.
  • Reporting about the progress/challenges/change stories from the site and actively working with the City Coordinator to tackle the challenges

Experience:

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in delivering life skills and play based games with adolescent and youth.

Skills:

  • Strong people skills, and experience in dealing with a multi-cultural team
  • Strong documentation and presentation skills
  • Fluency in local languages required
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments
  • Pro-activeness
  • Positive outlook towards work culture of the organization
  • Training Skills/ability to conduct sessions with young people
  • Working knowledge of computers including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Willingness to travel
  • Strong communication skills
  • High levels of integrity and loyalty, and demonstrating initiative

Salary: 28,000- 40,000/-
