Job Summary:

Central TB Division is implementing Subnational Certification of TB free districts, an initiative of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare to encourage State/UT/districts to achieve the sustainable development goals related with TB. Under this collaboration, Piramal Swasthya is hiring short-term positions of Program Assistant – Coordination & Finance for Sub-National Certification of Progress Towards TB Free Status based at ICMR-National Institute for Research in TB, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

This position requires technical expertise, public health experience, strong coordination skills, understanding of administrative and financial processes under public health domain and ability to develop positive, professional working relationships with various government counterparts and other partners.

This role will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Representing Tribal TB initiative in all district’s public forums (review meeting, DC meeting, NTEP, NHM, Tribal Welfare, etc)
  • Collation of reports for the district to be presented at district forums
  • Preparing MoM for review meetings and other relevant meetings done
  • Reporting of complete district field data to State M&E officer.
  • Regular and real time documentation of best practices, case studies, challenges and other stories and onward sharing
  • Regular feedback to state Tribal TB initiative on the gaps and challenges identified
  • Ensure availability of services both in Community and health facilities by regular checks and flagging gaps in allocated blocks. (Optimum distribution of sputum containers, referral formats, lab tech availability, machine functionality, treatment initiation, DBT, Informant Incentive etc.)
  • Liaison with all relevant stakeholders to:
  1. Ensure formation of TB Forums
  2. Ensure representation of Tribal Community in TB Forums
  3. Ensure representation of TB Champions in TB Forums
  4.  Coordinate and engage with district level Govt departments for TB awareness and greater involvement (RDPR, SRLM, PDS, WCD, Labour and Welfare, Mines and Industries)
  5.  Engage with PSUs, Private sector health facilities, Private Companies
  6. Encourage/ Advocate for TB sensitization sessions in Statutory Committees
  7. Liaison with local NGOs and CSOs as per need
  • Visit tribal villages/ habitations and conduct meetings with community influencers
  • Ensure all community level activities are conducted as per SOPs, quality protocols and project guidelines
  • Conduct IEC activities related to TB in villages, panchayats, hamlets and Haat/ Bazaars level or any other platform
  • Identify TB Champions from among TB Survivors Recording and reporting of project activities and detailed profiling/ mapping of Community Influencers

Desirable Qualification & Experience

  • MSW /MA Social Work/ M.Sc Graduate/ Post-graduate in relevant field of health and life sciences preferred
  • At least 2-4 years’ experience in a reputed international/ large non-governmental organization/government organization
  • Experience in managing government stake holders at district[1]level
  • Experience in the TB program would be preferable Experience in state/district level work desirable

Skills

  • Ability to coordinate with multiple government departments and district level stake holders
  • Ability to share knowledge and learnings across varied forums at district/state-level
  • Ability to identify best practices and suggest innovation.

  • Resident of the district (applied for)/willing to re[1]locate
  • Understanding of District Health administration

Duration of posting:

  • Fixed Term Contract
