Reporting Manager:	Operationally and administratively to the INPHOG Director/HR/Manager
Years of Experience:	>3 years in Biostatistics

Qualification:	Bachelors/Master’s degree in Statistics
Employment Status (Permanent /part-time/ contractual):	Contractual
Period of Contract:	1 year (to be renewed every year)
Job Location:	Delhi
Monthly Salary/CTC:	INR 50-80,000/month

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

Before the study even begins, biostatisticians will be involved with the researchers to develop the following:

• Reviews project protocols
• Clear descriptions of the hypothesis and research question being asked
• A design for the study that involves data collection protocols and procedures adequate and appropriate for answering its research questions and hypotheses
• Provide consultation to clients, investigators and researchers on experimental design and statistical research approaches, requirements, and scientific standards to advance medical knowledge and improve research in public health.
• Calculate sample size requirements for clinical studies.
• Description and selection of the study participants
• The specific procedures and processes which will be used to obtain the data
• Performs relevant sample size calculations

Subsequent to data collection, biostatisticians will do the following

• Propose and evaluate the performance of statistical methods to prepare statistical analysis plans
• Analyse the data and report results creating tables and standard listings
• Supports the creation of publication material from a statistical perspective
• Performs complex statistical analyses, interprets statistical results, and helps prepare study reports including summaries

In addition, the biostatistician would assist in

• Developing relevant SOPs related to study conduct and design
• Provide teaching to staff and investigators as needed

 

 

COMPETENCIES/ SKILL SET:

• Providing consultation on statistical methods
• Ensure timeliness and adequate quality of statistical deliverables
• Thorough understanding of statistical issues in clinical trials
• Prior experience with statistical software required e.g SAS, SPSS, R, etc
• Good analytical skills and project management skills
• Understanding of ICH GCP general knowledge of industry practices and standards
• Ability to work in a team
• Good communication with colleagues
• Ability to work independently
