Job Description

Applications are invited for the position of consultant for data collection and case study on ‘Comprehensive Review of Panchayat Finances and Measures to Augment their Revenue’ commissioned by 16th Finance Commission, Government of India.

• Data collection from Panchayati Raj Institutions
• Development of case studies (own revenue generation, house tax collection, optimal use of grants)
• Expected to work remotely and coordinate with IRMA team.

Key Responsibilities:

Data collection from Panchayati Raj Institutions:

Two Zilla Panchayat, two Intermediate Panchayats, four Village Panchayats in each selected state States to be covered are the following:

• Assam
• West Bengal
• Bihar
• Andhra Pradesh
• Kerala
• Madhya Pradesh
• Maharashtra
• Punjab
• Uttar Pradesh

Data tabulation and validation

Preparing transcript of interviews, thematically arranging the major points

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Substantial experience in field survey/ data collection in research projects sponsored by government or internationally reputed doner.

                                            OR

• Post Graduate Degree in Social Sciences (Economics, Political Science, Public Administration) with relevant experience.
• Candidates must have ability to read and write in any or more than one of the following languages: Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, Punjabi, Telegu, Malayalam, Marathi,
