Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Fundraising Officer to join our team on a secondment basis, working closely with our Project Implementing Partner in Madhya Pradesh, India. The Fundraising Officer will be instrumental in securing funding for critical water infrastructure projects, such as drip irrigation systems, checks dams, farm ponds, gabion structures, community ponds, borewells, and other community-based water solutions. This includes identifying and securing support through grants, as well as developing corporate sponsorship opportunities. This role requires expertise in grant writing, corporate engagement, a strong understanding of water management and infrastructure projects, and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities
Grant Writing and Fundraising:
- Research, identify, and pursue relevant grant opportunities from national and international donors.
- Prepare high-quality, persuasive grant proposals tailored to funders’ priorities and guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Project Implementing Partner to gather technical, financial, and contextual information for grant applications.
Leverage Government Schemes:
- Research, identify, and pursue relevant Government schemes that are alignment with the mission and goals of water conservation.
- Prepare high-quality, persuasive proposals to leverage such schemes.
- Maintain strong relationships with Government agencies, providing regular updates on project progress and outcomes.
Corporate Sponsorship Development:
- Identify and engage potential corporate sponsors who align with the mission and goals of the water infrastructure projects.
- Develop tailored sponsorship proposals and partnership agreements to attract corporate support.
- Maintain strong relationships with corporate sponsors, providing regular updates on project progress and outcomes.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain relationships with donors, government agencies, funding organizations, and corporate partners.
- Represent Climate Impact Partners and the project in meetings, presentations, and networking events.
Project Documentation:
- Develop comprehensive project proposals, budgets, and impact reports that align with donor and sponsor expectations.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in grant writing and fundraising, including success in securing corporate sponsorships and leveraging Government schemes.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Development Studies, Public Administration, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of water infrastructure projects and water harvesting strcutures, including drip irrigation systems, dams, and community water management initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to produce compelling written content in English.
- Familiarity with the funding landscape, including government grants, international NGOs, private foundations, philanthropic grants, and corporate sponsorships.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural and community-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Nice to have's
- Proficiency in Hindi and/or local languages of Madhya Pradesh.
- Experience working in rural development or with grassroots organizations in India.
- Knowledge of climate finance and carbon credit mechanisms.
