About the Organization

Digital India Corporation is a not-for-profit Company set up by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Govt. of India, under Section 8 of Companies Act 2013. Earlier the company was known as ‘Media Lab Asia’. It has been renamed as ‘Digital India Corporation’ w.e.f. Sep 8, 2017. The Company now leads & guides in realizing the vision, objectives and goals of the Digital India program. It provides strategic support to Ministries / Departments of Centre / States to carry forward the mission of Digital India by way of capacity building for e-governance projects, promoting best practices, encouraging Public-Private Partnerships (PPP), nurturing innovations and technologies in various domains. To ensure autonomy and viability of the organization in the long run, DIC, will also collaborate and mobilise partnerships with the industry, to evolve revenue based models for service delivery.

Job Description

The objective of this role is to develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for the Skilling in AI initiative, with a focus on driving AI talent development and meeting industry demands. This includes setting clear goals, performance metrics, and timelines to ensure the program's success. A critical responsibility is overseeing the creation and deployment of skilling programs tailored for ITI and Polytechnic students, aligning them with AI industry requirements and labor market trends. Additionally, the role involves building strategic partnerships with educational institutions, government bodies (NIELIT, AICTE, DHE), state governments, and industry stakeholders to foster collaboration. The role also includes implementing monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to track the initiative's impact, while regularly reporting progress and insights to senior leadership. Leading and mentoring a team of consultants and staff is essential to ensure alignment with the initiative's goals and India AI’s broader vision.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for the Skilling in AI initiative, setting clear objectives, performance metrics, and timelines to drive the program forward.
  • Oversee the creation and deployment of skilling programs for ITI and Polytechnic students, ensuring they are aligned with AI industry requirements and labor market demands.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with educational institutions, government agencies such as NIELIT, AICTE,DHE, state governments, and industry stakeholders to ensure successful collaboration and outcome delivery.
  • Implement monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to track the performance and impact of skilling initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement and reporting progress to key stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership, including the CEO of IndiaAI, and other relevant stakeholders on program status, challenges, and achievements.
  • Lead and mentor a team of consultants and staff members, ensuring alignment with the overall objectives of the skilling initiative and India AI’s vision.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or a related field from a recognized university or institute.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • 15+ years of experience in program management and skill development initiatives, with a focus on technology and preferably AI.
  • In-depth knowledge of AI concepts, industry trends, and the workforce demands of the AI and tech sectors.
  • Hands on experience in capacity building or Learning & Development activities.
  • Leadership and team management skills with a proven ability to inspire and guide teams toward successful outcomes.
  • Expertise in managing partnerships with government agencies, educational institutions, and industry stakeholders.
  • Strong project management experience, particularly in project planning, monitoring, and evaluation of skilling programs.
  • Commitment to the mission of AI skilling, with a focus on societal impact, innovation, and inclusive growth.
  • Previous experience in setting up and managing large-scale skilling programs is highly desirable.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to implement AI skilling initiatives in educational institutions.
  • Strong communication skills, especially in liaising with government and industry stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving and adaptability in navigating challenges related to large-scale skilling programs.
  • Data-driven decision-making in monitoring and evaluating program effectiveness.
