Job Responsibilities

• Support the designing and implementation of sustainable coal mine closure plan developed by the project in one coal mine region in Jharkhand.
• Coordinate with the coal mine companies, consultants, private sector partners, project staff in Jharkhand and Delhi, and other key stakeholders in the area.
• Support monitoring, regular reporting of progress of the plan implementation.
• Represent and work with the government functionaries at the district and local levels on the aspects of convergence, leveraging social security schemes, livelihoods and other activities as designed under the implementation plan.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Post-Graduate in renewable energy/ climate change/ geology/ Rural development/ Environmental sciences or comparable degrees.
• Minimum 2-5 years of professional work experience in climate change, renewable energy, environment and/ or natural resource management
• Candidate is required to work with local people living in and around out coal mine area and shall be comfortable with dealing with people.
• Work experience with tribal communities and /or in mining areas/ rural development/environment sector is an advantage.
