Position: Manager – Centre of Excellence (Electric Vehicles & Sustainable Mobility)
Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat
Experience: 4-6 years in Electric Vehicles (EVs), Sustainable Mobility, Automotive Engineering, or related domains
CTC: INR 10.80 – 12.50 LPA
Role Overview
The Manager – Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Electric Vehicles & Sustainable Mobility will be responsible for leading, developing, and managing the EV & Sustainable Mobility vertical at the Centre of Excellence in Ahmedabad. This role involves a strategic blend of technical expertise, program execution, stakeholder engagement, and research innovation to position the CoE as a premier skilling, research, and industry-collaboration hub in the electric vehicle ecosystem.
The incumbent will work closely with industry leaders, academic institutions, government bodies, and CSR partners to develop a future-ready talent pipeline, drive applied research, and implement capacity-building programs in EV technology, charging infrastructure, battery management systems, and sustainable transportation solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations Management
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the CoE in Electric Vehicles & Sustainable Mobility at Ahmedabad, ensuring smooth execution of skilling programs, research initiatives, and industry collaborations.
- Develop and lead a high-performing team of technical trainers, researchers, and program coordinators.
- Ensure that the CoE remains at the forefront of innovation in EV technology and sustainable mobility by integrating the latest trends, tools, and methodologies.
- Establish operational SOPs, quality benchmarks, and impact assessment frameworks for CoE activities.
Industry & Government Engagement
- Establish strategic partnerships with EV manufacturers, battery technology firms, research institutions, charging infrastructure providers, and sustainability organizations.
- Collaborate with government agencies, policymakers, and regulatory bodies to align CoE programs with national EV policies, FAME India initiatives, and Smart Mobility frameworks.
- Work with corporate CSR partners and funding agencies to ensure long-term sustainability and expansion of CoE programs.
Training, Skilling & Capacity Building
- Design and implement industry-aligned skilling programs in EV powertrains, charging solutions, battery management systems, and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology.
- Oversee the development of certification programs, diploma courses, and experiential learning modules for students and working professionals.
- Facilitate faculty development programs and hands-on workshops to enhance the skillset of trainers and educators in EV technology.
Research, Innovation & Knowledge Development
- Drive applied research and innovation projects in areas such as battery optimization, energy storage solutions, and smart transportation technologies.
- Support students and faculty in publishing research papers, patents, and case studies on emerging trends in e-mobility and sustainable transport.
- Collaborate with startups, incubators, and research labs to promote entrepreneurship and commercialization of EV technologies.
Program Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Develop a Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) framework to assess the impact of CoE initiatives in terms of skilled professionals trained, industry collaborations, research outputs, and policy advocacy.
- Generate impact reports and analytical insights for government bodies, funding partners, and industry stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, funding guidelines, and quality benchmarks for CoE activities.
- Represent the CoE in national and international conferences, EV expos, mobility summits, and policy forums.
- Promote CoE programs through seminars, expert talks, panel discussions, and industry roundtables.
- Lead outreach campaigns and digital initiatives to drive awareness about sustainable mobility and EV technologies.
Outreach & Thought Leadership
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Energy Science, Sustainable Mobility, or related fields.
- Additional certifications in EV technology, battery management systems, sustainable transport, or Industry 4.0 mobility solutions will be an advantage.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Energy Science, Sustainable Mobility, or related fields.
- Additional certifications in EV technology, battery management systems, sustainable transport, or Industry 4.0 mobility solutions will be an advantage.
Experience:
- 4-6 years of experience in EV technology, automotive electronics, battery management, charging infrastructure, or sustainable mobility initiatives.
- Hands-on expertise in EV powertrain systems, battery chemistry, smart charging solutions, energy efficiency, and vehicle dynamics.
- Experience in leading skilling/training programs, research collaborations, and industry partnerships in the e-mobility sector.
- Knowledge of FAME India policies, National Electric Mobility Mission (NEMMP), carbon-neutral transport strategies, and EV adoption frameworks.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strategic leadership and team management skills.
- Strong technical expertise in EVs, battery tech, and charging infrastructure.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement abilities to collaborate with academia, industry, and government bodies.
- Strong program management, budgeting, and resource planning skills.
- Research-oriented mindset with the ability to drive innovation and knowledge creation in e-mobility.
- Excellent communication skills for public speaking, report writing, and industry representation.
