Job Description/Responsibilities
ESG Compliance, Regulatory Adherence & Assurance Readiness
- Ensure full compliance with ESG-related mandates and voluntary global best practices, including but not limited to BRSR, EPR, CSR Act, SBTi, GRI, CDP, TCFD
- Lead ESG regulatory intelligence, monitoring emerging laws and aligning Swiggy’s operations with changing compliance requirements.
- Create ESG risk frameworks, identifying compliance gaps and proactively mitigating regulatory risks.
- Develop ESG policies, SOPs, and assurance mechanisms to prepare for external audits, third-party assurance, and investor-grade reporting.
- Strengthen supplier and partner ESG due diligence, ensuring sustainability compliance across the vendor ecosystem.
ESG Ratings & Investor-Facing Sustainability Performance
- Own ESG ratings & disclosures, ensuring Swiggy maintains strong performance in DJSI, MSCI ESG Ratings, FTSE4Good Index, Sustainalytics ESG Risk Rating
- Develop ESG communications materials and reports for the Board, and marquee investors. • Implement governance structures for ESG risk mitigation, tracking progress against key performance indicators.
- Enhance ESG transparency to align with investor expectations and sustainability-linked financing requirements.
Sustainability Reporting, Data Management & Digitization
- Oversee Swiggy’s full sustainability reporting portfolio, integrating multiple frameworks including BRSR, GRI, CDP, and impact metrics for ESG rankings.
- Develop real-time ESG data tracking dashboards, ensuring seamless integration with Swiggy’s ERP systems.
- Deploy automation tools for ESG reporting, reducing manual intervention and ensuring accuracy.
- Integrate AI-driven analytics to measure sustainability KPIs, carbon footprint tracking, and supplier compliance metrics.
- Implement traceability systems, enhancing transparency in ESG reporting and supply chain sustainability.
Sustainability Strategy & Governance
- Drive enterprise-wide ESG governance, integrating sustainability KPIs into business decision-making.
- Own the execution of Swiggy’s sustainability goals, ensuring alignment with business strategies and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with key internal teams (supply chain, operations, product, marketing, and logistics) to embed sustainability across business processes.
- Monitor and supervise internal workstreams for sustainability programs, ensuring seamless execution with clear functional ownership and accountability.
- Ensure cross-functional teams have the necessary resources, insights, and alignment to execute sustainability initiatives effectively.
- Develop and oversee sustainability project management dashboards, stakeholder reports, and tracking mechanisms to monitor progress towards goals.
Programs & Partnerships
- Design, launch, and scale Swiggy’s flagship sustainability programs in key focus areas such as circular economy & sustainable packaging, food waste reduction & urban sustainability, gig worker well-being & community upliftment, fleet electrification & carbon reduction, diversity, equity & inclusion.
- Forge strategic ESG partnerships with government agencies, sustainability alliances, multilateral organizations, and academic institutions.
- Develop high-impact industry collaborations, alliances, associations to position Swiggy as a sustainability-first brand in the food-tech and quick commerce space.
- Lead program strategy and implementation for key, central social impact initiatives, ensuring they align with Swiggy’s broader purpose, policy positions.
External & Internal Stakeholder Management
- Engage with policymakers, regulatory bodies, industry leaders, and sustainability-focused organizations to shape sustainability policies.
- Represent Swiggy at industry forums, policy discussions, and collaborative platforms, ensuring leadership in sustainability dialogue.
- Act as the key sustainability liaison across internal teams, ensuring alignment on priorities, objectives, and execution strategies.
- Create and drive internal engagement campaigns to ensure leadership buy-in and broader employee participation in sustainability efforts.
- Work closely with leadership and functional heads to ensure sustainability is embedded in Swiggy’s strategic roadmap.
Communication, Campaigns & Amplification
- Oversee the development of compelling narratives around Swiggy’s sustainability efforts, ensuring clear articulation of impact, progress, and future direction.
- Collaborate with internal communications, PR, and marketing teams to amplify sustainability initiatives through campaigns, digital content, and strategic storytelling.
- Ensure sustainability messaging is integrated into customer-facing platforms/ touchpoints and partner, stakeholder communications, strengthening Swiggy’s brand positioning.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Education: MBA/Master’s degree in Economics/ CA & CS.
Technical Skills:
- BRSR, GRI, CDP, SBTi, TCFD, EPR, CSR
- Project management expertise, high level of ownership and accountability o Strong program design and execution expertise – ability to drive large-scale sustainability initiatives internally.
- Experience in building and scaling flagship sustainability programs and partnerships.
- Ability to track, measure, and optimize sustainability initiatives using data and impact-driven approaches.
- Stakeholder engagement skills to influence internal teams, leadership, and external partners.
- Experience in sustainability-focused storytelling and brand communication. • Soft Skills:
- Strong collaboration and cross-functional leadership capabilities.
- Ability to translate sustainability concepts into actionable business strategies. o Excellent communication and storytelling skills to engage internal and external stakeholders.
