Job Description

The researcher will have to work on real-world datasets available from various police departments in India to achieve the objectives of implementation and publication. The Research Associate is expected to support research on topics/themes that are aligned with the project and the centre’s vision.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct cutting-edge research on crime prediction using statistical modelling, machine learning, and optimization.
• Develop and implement advanced algorithms for crime data analysis and prediction.
• Publish research findings in high-impact journals and present results at conferences.
• Assist in mentoring graduate students and contribute to the centre's activities.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• A Ph.D. in Statistics, Machine Learning, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field.
• Strong background in statistical analysis, machine learning, and optimization techniques.
• Experience with crime data, spatial modeling, or related fields is a plus.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
