About the Organization

Caritas India, founded in 1962, is the official development arm (registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI 1860 (the Punjab Amendment Act 1957) of the Catholic Churches in India. The word Caritas originates from Latin, which means, Love in Action. The name connotes the efforts to bring Compassion and Love to Humanity. Caritas India is a member of the Caritas confederation of more than 160 member organizations working in nearly 200 countries, making it the second-largest humanitarian network in the world.

Job Description

  • The project associate will be responsible for multiple projects related to participatory governance and sustainable agriculture.
  • As the project point person, expected to accompany partners, help them technically, organize regional reflections and trainings and manage the regular project deliverables, including reporting.
  • The project associate is expected to have thorough knowledge of grassroots governance systems and processes.
  • The associate is also expected to help partners develop interventions to increase women participation in governance. Should be a team player with sound skills in facilitation, capacity building and coordination.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of work experience in the similar field

Key Skills :

  • Thorough knowledge on the subjects related to livelihood and food security and participatory governance particularly in the context of the Dalits and Adivasis of Bihar.
  • Ability to put knowledge and principles into practice.
  • Ability to carry out regular assessments and studies on livelihood and food security.  Knowledge about government responses – programmes and schemes – on sustainable agriculture
