Role Overview:

SMART is seeking a trained and qualified Program Manager and Senior Program Manager to lead our Gender Vertical. The selected candidates will work closely with the Director, offering both strategic and operational support across all aspects of our gender-based violence (GBV) project.

Key Responsibilities

The person will serve as the reporting officer for an Assistant Project Manager and a Project Associate, overseeing the following:

Program Coordination and Planning

  • Project Strategy and Work Plan Development: Develop a comprehensive work plan for the implementation of the project across all intervention states, including timelines, milestones, and key activities.
  • Coordination with Community Radios: Maintain regular communication with all 13 community radios to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Partnership Management: Coordinate with local NGOs, government bodies, and other stakeholders in each state to support project implementation and leverage resources.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure that all project activities comply with donor and organizational requirements.
  • Documentation: Submit monthly/quarterly progress updates to donors and senior management.
  • Mentor and monitor: Provide guidance to and oversee the work of Gender Equality Fellows

Capacity Building

  • Training and Capacity Building:Organize and conduct PSEA training and build capacity on handling sensitive content and community feedback.
  • Content Development Support: Guide the development of culturally and contextually appropriate radio programs, and talk shows addressing GBV issues.
  • Community Mobilization: Support the radios in organizing community meetings, running women's groups, host discussions, focus groups, or live events to address GBV at the local level.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL)

  • Develop Monitoring Tools: Design tools and indicators for tracking the effectiveness of radio programs in raising GBV awareness and fostering community engagement.
  • Site Visits and Audits: Conduct regular field visits to ensure the quality and progress of the project in each state.
  • Feedback Collection: Establish mechanisms for collecting community feedback on radio programs and incorporate this into content improvement.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze program data to assess impact, identify challenges, and generate insights for continuous improvement.
  • Report Writing: Prepare detailed progress and impact reports for donors, partners, and internal stakeholders

Resource Management

  • Budget Oversight: Manage project budget, ensuring proper allocation of resources and compliance with financial guidelines, work with Finance to ensure timely payments.
  • Grant Management: Oversee project funding, ensuring all activities are aligned with donor expectations and preparing financial reports as required.

Team Management

  • Staff Supervision: Manage a small team, communications and specialists, ensuring they are working towards the project’s objectives.
  • Team Capacity Building: Foster a learning environment for your team by facilitating continuous training and professional development.

Compensation:

Compensation will be consolidated 7.2 - 7.5 lakhs per annum with a performance based annual raise.
