About the Organization
The National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRD&PR), an autonomous organisation under the Union Ministry of Rural Development, is a premier national centre of excellence in rural development and Panchayati Raj. Recognized internationally as one of the UN-ESCAP Centres of Excellence, it builds capacities of rural development functionaries, elected representatives of PRIs, bankers, NGOs and other stakeholders through inter-related activities of training, research and consultancy. The Institute is located in the historic city of Hyderabad in Telangana state. The NIRD&PR celebrated its Golden Jubilee Year of establishment in 2008. In addition to the main campus at Hyderabad, this Institute has North-Eastern Regional Centre at Guwahati, Assam to meet the NE-regional needs.
Job Description
- To perform all functions related to financial management, accounting and audit compliance related to the Project
- To process bills received from the Project Partners, Project Staff and all others concerned and to make them ready for payment by the Accounts Section of NIRDPR
- To coordinate with the Accounts section of NIRDPR for timely payment of salary to the Project Staff, TA bills, preparation of UC etc.
- To maintain records for financial management, accounting and auditing
- To assist in management of the Project office
- To work for prolonged hours to achieve the targets of the Project
- To discharge such other responsibilities as may be assigned
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from any recognized university
Desirable
- Master’s degree in Commerce from any recognized university
Work Experience
Essential
- At least ten years’ first-hand combined experience of having worked at District/State/National level on issues related to financial management, maintenance of accounts and administration
Desirable
- Sound experience in computerized financial management and maintenance of accounts & records
Knowledge and Skills Required
- Sound knowledge of financial management, accounting procedures and audit compliance, particularly in Government offices
- Skills in computerized financial management and maintenance of accounts & records, particularly in Government environment
- Soft skills including proficiency in MS Office and any Accounting Package
- Proficiency in writing and speaking English and speaking Hindi
Salary
A consolidated amount of Rs.40,000/- (Rupees forty thousand) only per month plus travel and subsistence on tour as per norms of NIRDPR
