Job Description:
We are seeking a highly qualified Solid Waste Management Specialist to join our team at Samvedna Development Society. The ideal candidate will have a strong educational background in social work, extensive experience in solid waste management, and a proven track record of working on Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) projects in collaboration with Nagar Nigam (Municipal Corporation of India). The Specialist will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and evaluating Solid waste management programs aimed at improving the cleanliness and sanitation standards in entire surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement innovative strategies for solid waste management in alignment with the goals and objectives of Samvedna Development Society.
- Collaborate with local authorities, community stakeholders, and other relevant partners to facilitate the effective implementation of waste management initiatives.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of current waste management practices and identify areas for improvement.
- Design and deliver Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaigns to raise awareness about proper waste disposal, recycling, and environmental conservation.
- Lead and coordinate Swachh Survekshan (Cleanliness Survey) projects in partnership with Nagar Nigam, ensuring compliance with guidelines and standards set by the government.
- Provide technical assistance and capacity-building support to community members, municipal staff, and other stakeholders involved in waste management activities.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of Solid waste management projects, tracking key indicators and outcomes to assess their impact and effectiveness.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports, documentation, and progress updates on waste management activities, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Stay informed about emerging trends, best practices, and innovations in the field of waste management, and incorporate relevant knowledge into program design and implementation.
- Represent Samvedna Development Society at meetings, workshops, and conferences related to waste management and sanitation, networking with peers and sharing insights and experiences.
Qualifications and Experience
- Educational Qualification: Master's in Social Work (MSW) or higher.
- Experience: 2-3 years of relevant experience, specifically in:
- Solid Waste Management (IEC) projects.
- Working with Nagar Nigams (Municipal Corporations).
- Driving initiatives under Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan.
- Comprehensive project documentation and reporting.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
