About the Organization

Mamta Health Institute for Mother and Child (Mamta) is a non-government not-for-profit organisation registered under the Society Registration Act 1860 of the Government of India. Mamta was established in 1990 with a humble intervention to enhance the health status of pregnant and lactating women and their new-born children in a resettlement colony of Delhi. In its journey of over thirty years the organisation has diversified its work under following thematic areas:

The organization has a strong team of over 1000 staff carrying out health and social interventions across 22 States at present. Mamta’s head office is in New Delhi and regional offices are in Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow, Patna and Shimla. Job Description

The Regional Manager is a mid-management level position in the organization responsible for ensuring the overall technical and programmatic quality and growth of MAMTA’s maternal and child health (MCH) programs. The RM would be responsible for a team of professionals and the implementation team(s)/ partner(s) and work in close collaboration with the M&E team. S/he would report directly to the Project Team Leader of the theme for technical and administrative issues.

Job Responsibilities

  • Implementing community-based interventions.
  • Leading and providing technical support and guidance to district and block level teams in planning, implementing, and reporting various project activities;
  • Providing management support in preparing work plans, tracking the progress of project activities as per plans through MIS, facilitating budgetary allocations to the implementation team(s), etc.;
  • Representing the project to the concerned authorities and at other stakeholders' meetings;
  • Establishing close interaction and coordination with the implementation team;
  • Developing effective liaison with district health officials and other stakeholders;
  • Coordinating and preparing periodic (monthly, quarterly) reports including MIS for project activities;
  • Establishing coordination between implementation, monitoring, and finance teams;
  • Managing administrative and HR issues of the implementing team(s) as necessary;
  • Ensuring regular reports are submitted from the MHIMC regional offices and/or implementing partners, including all relevant management information
  • Donor reporting.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Applicants must be a MBBS/BDS with Master in Public Health from a reputed institute.
  • Applicants are also expected to have an in-depth understanding of the Indian public health system, Policy directives, program implementation of GOI, and states specifically in MCH and its linkages with National and International goals.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the public health with demonstrated ability in program/ project management/ implementation.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Experience in donor reporting, conceptual designing of projects and a good understanding of evolving technology in the sector ;
  • Good documentation and communication skills in English and Hindi to support capacity building and mentoring of team
  • Willings to work with difficult-to-reach and vulnerable population
  • Open to field visits at different project sites at least 8 days a month.
  • In-depth experience in result-based MIS monitoring and data-based project planning and implementation;
  • Excellent computer skills, especially in handling MS Office, are essential.
