About the Organization

The climate change group at TISS, started active inter-disciplinary research in the area of climate change and sustainable development in 2008. The group was formalised into a Centre for Climate Change and Sustainability Studies in the year 2012. A two year M.A./M.Sc. Programme in Climate Change and Sustainability Studies was also started, in the academic year 2012-2013.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Applicants must be pursuing a Masters’ Degree in social sciences, Liberal Arts, or BA LLB or LLM with adequate knowledge on forest policies, tribal development, village development, and human-wildlife conflict
• Conduct field work and surveys in rural and tribal areas independently
• Availability from 1st May 2025 for the entire duration of two months is a must
• Ability to analyse, document project reports, write policy briefs, case laws and field insights.
• Ability to coordinate with government and civil society groups and local stakeholders for fieldwork, and research study independently.
• Basic skills in excel, SPSS, GPS and GIS
• Candidates must be well-versed in English and Marathi (speaking, writing, reading)

Salary

Rs. 15,000 (Consolidated) (Food, travel and accommodation will be provided by TISS, Mumbai)
