Job Description
ANNAM.AI at IIT Ropar is India’s pioneering Centre of Excellence dedicated to building AI-powered solutions for the agricultural sector. As Senior Operating Officer (SOO), you will support the Chief Operating Officer in executing high-impact programs and managing the operational delivery of ANNAM’s AI-driven initiatives across rural India. You will play a pivotal role in project execution, stakeholder coordination, compliance, data governance, and capacity-building programs that shape the future of agricultural innovation.
Job Responsibilities
- Project Management|Stakeholder Collaboration & Outreach|Data Governance & Compliance|Resource Mobilization & Procurement
- Assist the COO in the implementation and day-to-day coordination of strategic initiatives and AI projects.
- Manage operational logistics for pilot projects and deployment of AI-based agricultural solutions across regions.
- Coordinate inter-departmental efforts across procurement, finance, training, and outreach.
- Supervise the rollout of capacity-building programs such as farmer workshops, hackathons, and stakeholder consultations.
- Maintain documentation for grants, vendor management, procurement workflows, and ensure timely reporting.
- Track progress of ongoing collaborations with startups, research institutions, and state departments.
- Prepare compliance reports, operational updates, and support the grant audit process.
- Ensure timely procurement and deployment of AI infrastructure (hardware/software/cloud tools).
- Support the establishment of field innovation hubs and ensure technology validation.
- Facilitate stakeholder communication with farmers, district-level officials, incubators, and ecosystem partners.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Master’s degree in Management, Engineering, Agriculture, or related field preferred.
- 5-8 years of relevant experience in operations/project management, preferably in tech-based rural or government programs.
- Strong coordination, documentation, and team leadership skills.
- Familiarity with AI, IoT, and digital tools is a strong advantage.
- Willingness to travel for field-level engagements.
