About the Organization

Established as a Charitable Trust on 27 November, 1969, WWF India set out with the aim of reducing the degradation of Earth’s natural environment and building a future in which humans live in harmony with nature. In 1987, the organization changed it's name from the World Wildlife Fund to World Wide Fund for Nature India. With five decades of extensive work in the sector, WWF India today is one of the leading conservation organizations in the country.

Job Description

  • Develop outreach programmes with local civil society and volunteers to involve them in our conservation initiatives and campaigns.
  • Responsible for the Environment Education programmes and activities in the state (projects with local schools/campaigns/workshops/nature camps).
  • Implement WWF-India’s local conservation initiatives and mobilise funding for these programmes.
  • Responsible for improving the profile and visibility of WWF-India in the State.
  • Oversee and build coordination and effectiveness with the fundraising and conservation products teams (which have a separate functional reporting to the Centre) by providing on-the-ground leadership, as the senior- most WWF- India representative in the State.
  • Build and nurture relationships, and foster cooperation with the Forest department and the Department of Housing and Environment to garner support for the local conservation activities in the region.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • Graduate/Post Graduate (preferred)
  • A min of 8 - 12 years of experience leading/ influencing teams in bringing about change in the conservation/ social arena.
  • Cultural understanding/knowledge of working in the NGO sector.

  • Strong leadership abilities and the ability to act independently.
  • Excellent communication skills.
