The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in 1936 as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. In 1944, it was renamed as the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. Job Description

The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, a premier Research and Teaching University in Social Sciences, invites applications for a vacancy in a multi-country project on 'Disrupting the Cycle of Gendered Violence and Poor Mental Health among Migrants in Precarious Situations'. This NIHR funded project is recruiting for the following position:

Vacancy announcement: Applied Statistics Research Associate

Job Responsibilities

• Assisting in data management, including organizing and structuring datasets for analysis.
• Generating basic descriptive statistics, dummy tables, and summary reports using SPSS.
• Supporting the preparation of data visualizations, graphs, and summary tables for presentations and reports.
• Assisting in drafting excerpts of quantitative findings for research papers, reports, and presentations.
• Preparing PowerPoint presentations for team meetings with other country teams.
• Working closely with the GEMMS research team to ensure efficient quantitative data handling and other relevant work related to the project.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Master’s degree in Public Health, Population Studies, Biostatistics, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or any related discipline from a UGC-recognized university.
• 1-2 years of experience in quantitative research, preferably in migration, health, mental health, and gender-based violence studies (although not necessary).
• Proficiency in using SPSS.
• Experience in working with quantitative datasets.
• Proficiency in English (both written and verbal).
• Willingness to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and contribute to mixed-methods research.
• Preference will be given to candidates located in Mumbai.
