About the Organization

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) is the nodal ministry of the Government of India for matters relating to new and renewable energy. The broad objective of the Ministry is to meet the energy needs of the country by developing and establishing new and renewable energy.

With growing concern for the country's energy security, the role of new and renewable energy has been gaining importance in recent times. In the 1970s, as a result of two oil price hikes due to the oil crisis, energy self-sufficiency was identified as the prime driver for new and renewable energy in the country. The sudden increase in oil prices, uncertainties relating to its supply and adverse impact on the balance of payments led to the establishment of the Commission on Additional Energy Sources in March, 1981 in the Department of Science and Technology. The Commission was entrusted with the responsibility to formulate and implement policies for the development of new and renewable energy and to design programmes for energy development, besides coordinating and accelerating research and development in the field. In September, 1982, a new Department viz. Department of Non-Conventional Energy Sources (DNES) was established in the then Ministry of Energy by incorporating the Commission on Additional Energy Sources (CASE). In October 2006, the Ministry was renamed as the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.

Job Description

Ministry ofNew and Renewable Energy (MNRE) invites application for ten (10) positions ofYoung Professionals from the Young, Talented, Innovative and Dynamic Professionals who are keen to demonstrate their proven academic, credential, professional achievements and leadership qualities.

Young Professions will be required to provide quality inputs for the following:-

• Policy research and analysis
• Planning, development, management, monitoring and impact assessment of schemes and programmes
• Data collection and analysis
• Aiding new initiatives like hydrogen economy
• Public outreach & communication, activities pertaining to international relation etc. Any other specific task to be assigned.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Master's Degree in Physics/ Chemistry] Mathematics/ Statistics

                    Or

• B.E/ B.Tech in any stream relevant to Renewable Energy

                    Or

• 2 years Post Graduate Diploma in Management, Post Graduate Diploma in Power Management Renewable Energy & Grid Interface Technologies/ Any other domain related to Energy;
• MBA (Finance)/ Chartered Accountant (CA)
• Graduate in law;
• BA (Hons.) in Political Science

Essential

• Minimum one year's experience in the Renewable Energy sector
• Minimum one year's experience in Finance sector
• Minimum one year's experience in the Energy sector
• Handled Parliamentary matters, Matters of Parliamentary Standing Committees, Preparation of Parliamentary Committee report, Budget Matters etc.
