About the Organization
Wadhwani AI is a non-profit institute building and deploying applied AI solutions to solve critical issues in public health, agriculture, education, and urban development in underserved communities in the global south. We collaborate with governments, social sector organizations, academic and research institutions, and domain experts to identify real-world problems, and develop practical AI solutions to tackle these issues with the aim of making a substantial positive impact.
We have over 30+ AI projects supported by leading philanthropies such as Gates Foundation, Google.org and Walmart. With a team of over 200 professionals, our expertise encompasses AI/ML research and innovation, software engineering, domain knowledge, design and user research.
Job Description
- Lead the strategic planning, rollout, and monitoring of zero-dose identification and inclusion efforts across 10 districts.
- Ensure the integration of zero-dose children into updated routine immunization micro-plans in collaboration with district- and block-level health teams.
- Work closely with project stakeholders, District Immunization Officers (DIOs), cold chain handlers, ANMs, and other frontline workers to ensure micro-plan accuracy and last-mile delivery.
- Supervise and mentor District Coordinators and Block Coordinators involved in immunization-related activities.
- Track progress and troubleshoot implementation gaps through regular reviews, field visits, and feedback loops.
- Build strong working relationships with government counterparts at the state and district levels, including NHM, UNICEF, WHO-NPSP, and other partner organizations.
- Represent the organization in technical working groups, immunization review meetings, and state- and district-level platforms.
- Provide technical inputs for policy advocacy, planning reviews, and partner coordination mechanisms.
- Provide technical support for community engagement and SBCC activities related to immunization.
- Organize and facilitate capacity-building workshops, refresher trainings, and on-ground hand-holding for field staff and health workers.
- Support the development of IEC/BCC materials tailored to zero-dose identification and immunization outreach.
- Ensure high-quality data collection, reporting, and visualization related to zero-dose outreach and inclusion.
- Track key indicators through dashboards and field reports, and analyze trends to inform adaptive programming.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Postgraduate degree in Public Health, Social Work, Rural Development, Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience managing public health programs, preferably in immunization or maternal and child health.
- Proven experience working with government systems, especially at the state and district levels.
- Strong understanding of immunization micro-planning and zero-dose challenges in rural India.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and coordination skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively within Bihar.
- Experience working in immunization programming in Bihar or similar low-coverage geographies.
- Fluency in Hindi and English; knowledge of regional dialects is a plus.
