About the Organization
It has been a rewarding sixteen years since we embarked on our mission to equip economically disadvantaged children and youth with education and foundational skills, galvanising them towards a better future. Our ‘Inch Wide Mile Deep’ approach, home-grown projects focussed on quality education for the low-income segment have been instrumental in shaping the success of our projects across India. KEF’s approach is primarily three-pronged–
- holistic interventions with children and educators in school,
- equitable scholarships for higher studies, and
- vocational education and skills training for livelihood.
Strengthening school leadership and teacher capacity building, creating a digital ecosystem and learning environment in schools, equipping middle school students with confidence and skills of communicative English, upskilling teachers to provide Foundational Literacy & Numeracy skills, and supporting districts in building and running Model Schools – these are key interventions run by KEF. KEF launched the Kotak Kanya Scholarship in 2021 to offer financial and academic support to meritorious girl students in pursuit of higher education from all over India. Kotak Junior Scholarship supports meritorious students from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region in pursuing 11th and 12th standards. KEF’s Vocational Education & Livelihood Project upskills unemployed youth from economically weaker sections of society and coaches them in domain know-how, the basics of IT and spoken English, life skills and personality development. It ensures placements for all eligible participants so they can stride with confidence into any professional sphere.
Job Description
We are looking for a passionate and strategic Marketing Communications Manager with proven experience to lead our communication efforts. The role involves designing and executing campaigns that build brand visibility, highlight social impact, and engage diverse stakeholders including donors, partners, media, employees, and communities.
Job Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement integrated communication strategies to amplify organizational impact and mission.
- Build annual communication plans that align with both business goals and social development objectives.
- Ensure consistent brand voice across internal, external, and partner-led platforms.
Brand & Storytelling
- Conceptualize and produce powerful impact stories showcasing beneficiaries,
community programs, and CSR initiatives. - Create content for reports, newsletters, donor decks, films, and digital channels.
- Translate complex program data into compelling narratives for multiple audiences(corporates, foundations, government, and community).
Media & Advocacy
- Manage relationships with development sector media, CSR publications, and mainstream press.
- Draft and distribute press releases, articles, and thought-leadership pieces.
- Support advocacy campaigns that raise awareness on education, livelihood, and other program areas
Digital & Social Media
- Drive digital campaigns to engage stakeholders and highlight organizational impact.
- Oversee content creation for website, social media, and emailers with a focus on storytelling and call-to-action.
- Monitor analytics to optimize reach and engagement.
Donor & Partner Communication
- Develop customized communication materials for donors, CSR partners etc.
- Ensure timely and impactful reporting of program milestones and outcomes.
- Support fundraising proposals with communication inputs.
Events & Campaigns
- Plan and manage impact events, partner meets, campaigns, and community engagement activities.
- Collaborate with external agencies, creative partners, and production houses for campaigns and AVs.
Internal Communications
- Build internal communication programs that strengthen organizational culture and connect employees with the mission.
- Support leadership communication and capacity-building for staff in storytelling and advocacy.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Define KPIs for communication campaigns and measure outcomes.
- Prepare periodic reports and dashboards for leadership and donor review.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, PR, Marketing, or Social Sciences.
- 5 years+ of experience in communications/PR/marketing, preferably with exposure to social sector, CSR, or non-profits.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
- Demonstrated experience in donor/CSR partner communication and impact reporting.
- Familiarity with digital marketing tools, social media, and analytics.
- Excellent networking, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
