Job Description
CivicDataLab is seeking a Senior Associate to support our ongoing programs in disaster risk reduction, climate resilience, and open data systems. This role will focus on strengthening program operations, coordinating between internal and external teams, and contributing to research and proposal development for emerging climate - data initiatives.
We are looking for someone who is a natural problem-solver and collaborator, comfortable working with multiple teams (data, policy, partnerships) while ensuring that program deliverables move smoothly from idea to implementation.
At CivicDataLab, we use data, technology, design, and social science to strengthen civic engagement and evidence-based decision-making. This role will be central to ensuring the coherence, quality, and growth of our climate resilience portfolio.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the coordination and implementation of ongoing programs in disaster risk reduction and climate resilience.
- Serve as a key link between technical (data/engineering), policy, and partnership teams to ensure smooth workflows across workstreams.
- Conduct research, documentation, and analysis for ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Contribute to proposal development, including drafting concept notes, budgets, timelines, and partner outreach materials.
- Coordinate inputs for donor and partner reporting, ensuring quality, timeliness, and alignment with project standards.
- Support the design and dissemination of data-driven dashboards, reports, and insights.
- Facilitate internal review meetings, track milestones, and maintain documentation repositories.
- Liaise with external stakeholders such as government agencies, multi-lateral partners, and civil society organisations.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
Skills you should bring
- Fluency in English and excellent writing and communication skills, with an ability to communicate complex ideas clearly across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to set priorities, plan timelines, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including through presentations.
- Postgraduate degree in Environmental Studies, Disaster Management, Public Policy, Development Studies, or related fields.
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in climate resilience, disaster management, or development-sector consulting.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills; experience drafting reports, proposals, or concept notes.
- Experience engaging with government bodies or international development partners is desirable.
- Organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Good to have
- Exposure to open data platforms, digital public goods, or civic-tech projects.
- An understanding of climate–health, social protection, or urban resilience domains.
- Familiarity with data and visualisation tools (Excel, Power BI, QGIS, Google Earth Engine, etc.) is preferred.
