About the Livelihoods Programs
AIF’s Livelihoods program envisions a world where poor and vulnerable communities have access to dignified work opportunities, empower them with sustainable livelihoods. Since 2006, the Livelihoods Program has directly and indirectly served 2.20 million people from vulnerable communities. Leveraging technology to provide financial and market linkages, knowledge, skills, and dignified work opportunities, the program helps the communities secure jobs, manage enterprises, and make a respectable living. Since its inception in 2006, through its flagship programs Market Aligned Skills Training (MAST) and Ability Based Livelihood Empowerment (ABLE), AIF Livelihoods has provided program support to 825,960 disadvantaged youth, women and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), and impacted 343,727 livelihoods.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
- AIF’s ABLE Project is a Multidimensional Disability inclusion through Employability skills and Market aligned Learning and Employment Enablement for aspirants with disabilities is housed under our livelihoods vertical.
- To equip 120 Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) with the necessary employability, life skills, and digital literacy skills to increase their job readiness and improve their chances of securing meaningful employment.
- To facilitate job placement for PwDs by connecting them with potential employers through organized job fairs and job drives, and by promoting inclusive hiring practices in the workforce.
- To ensure equal access to training by providing both online and offline training options, addressing barriers such as transportation and physical accessibility.
- To provide ongoing support to PwDs post-placement, including mentoring, counselling, and additional skills training to help them adapt to their new roles and sustain long-term employment.
- To raise awareness and educate employers about the value of hiring PwDs and the importance of creating inclusive and accessible work environments. “Engage to Empower” is beyond skilling, placement, and employment.
- It recommends a long-term intervention in an aspirant's career to ensure meaningful progression over years. The recruited candidates undergo long-term support on skilling, mentoring and training support in technical, behavioral, and professional areas. The areas of intervention are carefully chosen based on a need assessment of the job market and skilled resource demand-supply gap in the given sector.
Position Purpose
The person to play a key role in ensuring that students with disabilities completed training have a successful transition from their academic programs into professional careers.

They act as a liaison between the trained candidates and potential employers, focusing on helping students secure job placements, and career development opportunities.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in youth enrolment process to understand the employment need of the candidate
- Conduct weekly sessions with the youth to ensure the alignment and preparedness from placement point of view
- Ensure placement & retention of the project candidates beyond the project target
- Generate employment opportunities for candidates by establishing and maintaining productive employer partnerships across local
- To ensure each trained student has appeared in a minimum 3 relevant interviews
- Map potential employers and secure placement MOUs with them to support placements
- Assist candidates in all aspects of the job search, including resume writing, interviewing techniques, mock interviews and job readiness.
- Collaborate closely with mobilizers and trainers to assess the progress of trained youth and identify any areas requiring further attention or improvement.
- Coordinate and oversee candidate interviews with prospective employers, ensuring thorough scheduling and follow-up, and providing support throughout the entire process from inception to completion.
- Take the lead in organizing job fairs and other placement-driven activities as per the project need
- Maintain employer database and candidates’ profiles as needed.
- Maintain a comprehensive repository of resumes for each batch, facilitating easy access for employers in need of potential candidates.
- Provide targeted career information and resources for specific majors and interest groups to candidates, alumni, trainers, and staff as needed.
- Ensure 100% tracking, post-placements and retention of candidates.
- Furnish a comprehensive set of documentation and placement evidence necessary for placement consideration, ensuring all required materials are uploaded accurately into the Management Information System (MIS).
- Explore new opportunities for candidates who left their jobs or did not join for any reason.
- Travel to the field as and when required.
- Support in mobilization as and when required
- Undertake any other task assigned by the line manager that might emerge depending upon the need and opportunity decided by AIF.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Experience/ bachelor’s degree in human resources management or business administration, English or related fields.
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in recruiting, staffing, or HR. Proficient knowledge in labour laws, employee benefits, compensation, and recruiting strategies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and local language.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and multitask.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of applicant tracking systems.
- Proficiency with computers and related software and applications.
- Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), and instructional software
- Strong presentation skills
- Openness to students and colleagues from a range of cultures and languages.
- Experience with technologies and best practices for instructional manuals
- Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
- Organized and able to create multiple timelines, budgets, and schedules
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Ability to work under pressure and disciplined
