Job Description for Program Manager, ILSS Centre of Excellence for Fundraising
India Leaders for Social Sector (ILSS) is a non-profit that aims to be India’s preeminent leadership development organisation for the social sector. We aim to increase the effectiveness of the top 1000 nonprofits in the sector to create catalytic impact at scale.
Overview
To achieve the mission, ILSS has a three-pronged approach:
- Bringing corporate talent into leadership and board positions in the social sector
- Running well-researched capacity building programs in critical domains for the social sector
- Building the social sector ecosystem to instil a strong focus on high-quality talent development
ILSS operates through five core areas—Governance, Talent, Digital Transformation, Fundraising, and Leadership Development—via its four Centres of Excellence and the People Practices Program:
- Centre of Excellence for Leadership: Develops future leaders through programs like the Leadership Program, Emerging Women Leaders Program, and Young Leaders Program, along with mentorship and thought leadership forums.
- Centre of Excellence for Board Governance: Enhances governance practices with training modules, advisory services, and programs such as the Board Leadership Program and Board Governance Program.
- Centre of Excellence for Fundraising: Supports fundraising professionals with resources, training, and networking through the ILSS Fundraising Program
- Centre of Excellence for Digital Transformation: Empowers SPOs to drive catalytic impact at scale by crafting their own digital transformation journey, through a holistic understanding of the art of the possible with digital transformation (DT), industry best practices and expert mentorship.
- Other Programs and Events : The ILSS People Practices Program enables organisation leaders in the sector to prioritise wholesome people practices, building the organisations’ capabilities, growth prospects, and sustainability in the long run. ILSS also hosts sector-wide conferences, including the India Fundraising Conference, to foster dialogue and collaboration
Since 2017, ILSS has built a community of more 850 mid - senior leaders and have worked across more than 350 social purpose organisations
Position Summary: We are looking for an enthusiastic and entrepreneurial Program Manager to support program development and execution for the ILSS Centre of Excellence for Fundraising. The Program Manager will work in a highly dynamic environment with a closely-knit, highly motivated, entrepreneurial team. Roles & Responsibilities: The Program Manager will work closely with the Centre lead on program design, implementation, and other activities. Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Program Implementation:
- Planning and managing operations for delivering a high-quality learning program in line with established success indicators
- Coordination and communication with Program Faculty, Mentors and Participants
- Managing logistics, including managing activity calendar; coordinating with the Program Faculty and managing assignments, notes and/or session material on the Learning Management Platform
- Designing and leading program sessions by supporting program faculty to deliver high quality learning experience for program participants
- Support program outreach and lead candidate selection in coordination with outreach team
- Working with communications team creating communication material to be shared with program participants, including preparation material for the participants and communications
- Tracking, recording, and incorporating feedback from the program participants
- Creating and executing reports after the end of each program cycle
- Measuring and documenting program impact
Research & Writing Support:
- Support with primary/secondary research and writing for case studies, articles and blogs
- Identifying trending topics and themes to create relevant knowledge products for the fundraising community
- Produce original knowledge pieces on themes relevant to fundraising for social impact
Other Responsibilities:
- Support the planning and implementation of other CoE engagements like alumni learning spaces, India Fundraising Conference, among others
Required qualifications, skills and abilities:
- 5-8 years of overall experience, with at least 2-3 years in program management
- Proficiency in adult learning settings, ideally across in-person and virtual mediums
- Proficiency in MS Offce (Word, Excel, PowerPoint Presentation)
- Proficiency in online tools for enhanced engagement in learning programs (Mentimeter, Slido, Zoom polls, Padlet, Calendly, etc.)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- Openness to learning and feedback
- Ability to manage projects independently
- Master’s degree preferred
- Prior experience in the impact space / social sector strongly preferred
- Experience in fundraising for social impact is desirable but not essential
Location: Okhla, Delhi NCR Region
Compensation
Depending on the candidate’s experience, ILSS offers compensation on par with Indian philanthropy pay scales.
