About the Organization

The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in 1936 as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. In 1944, it was renamed as the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. The year 1964 was an important landmark in the history of the Institute, when it was declared Deemed to be a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act (UGC), 1956.

Job Description

Applications are invited for the post of ‘Assistant Centre Manager ’ under the project titled ‘M-Power Library and Study Centre (Transforming M Ward), TISS, Mumbai.

Job Responsibilities

• Assisting and supporting all aspects of the Center Manager's role.
• Assist with statistical reports and data entry.
• Maintain accurate records of library transactions and inventory
• Support student in accessing digital resources and databases.
• Manage administrative activities.
• Help organize and facilitate library events, programs, and workshops.
• Assist in promoting library services and programs.
• Check in and check out library materials.
• Process new library materials and manage returns.
• Handle fees, and membership registrations.
• Assist students with locating materials and using library resources.
• Reviewing library membership statements twice a month.
• Any other tasks assigned by the Center manager.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Good academic record with at least 55 % of the marks at graduation level or an equivalent grade (B.Com. candidate preferred)
• Proficiency in MS Word/Excel/Powerpoint.

Salary

Rs. 15000/- to Rs.18000/- per month (depending on experience)
