Associate Thematic Programme Executive / Thematic Programme Executive – Natural Resources Management (NRM)

Position: Associate Thematic Programme Executive / Thematic Programme Executive – Natural Resources Management (NRM)  

Base location : Sambalpur, Odisha

a. Role & Responsibilities

1. Implementation and thematic support for development programs covering the thematic areas of NRM, water, energy, climate actions etc.
2. Function as technical resource support for NRM, water, energy, climate actions etc. for the programmes in the Region.
3. Training and capacity building of field team, farmers.
4. Liaison with state / district / block level departments / administration.
5. Facilitation, review, monitoring, training etc. in the area of NRM. Monitoring skills for process, progress and impact.
6. Ensuring quality in execution of field works. Programme management abilities, managerial effectiveness.  
7. Survey and design of various structures of watershed and water resources development / management.
8. Preparation of project proposals, detailed project report with RBM / LFA and thematic maps.
9. Planning and implementation of watershed, water resource development, irrigation, energy and climate action programmes.
10. 10.  Application of GIS, RS for planning, estimation, survey, implementation and impact assessment.
11. Build capacities on regular basis to equip project teams with knowledge and latest information in thematic areas like climate change adaptation and mitigation, ground water management, land degradation, soil health and drinking water management in align with national as well as global sustainable development goals to deliver the key results against project plan.
12. Regular monitoring of implementation of the NRM perspective plan 2030 effectively in the region and also submits regularly progress report on achievement PP2030 target to seniors, BAIF state team and Pune office.
13. Develop new information resources, prepare guidelines, SOPs, and document processes to improve the programme. Document outcomes and dissemination of documents.
14. Liaison with sponsors, present BISLD and BAIF, its NRM programme and identify the new opportunities to scale up of the programme. Present BAIF work in workshops, meetings, conferences and circulate the learning’s among the teams.
15. Report writing, research, data analysis and documentation.
16. Good interpersonal communication, people management and networking skills.

Besides these responsibilities, the Management may give you any other responsibility they think necessary for improving the quality of the programs and for the smooth and efficient functioning of the organization.

b. Qualifications, skills, experience, competencies

1. Graduate / Post-graduate degree in Agriculture Engineering / Civil Engineering / Watershed / Natural Resources Management etc. 
2. Well conversant in English and Hindi.
3. Functional computer skills.
4. 4 – 5 years domain experience.
5. Proactive approach to work, good follow-up and follow-through.
6. Open to learn, assimilate and adopt new and emerging developments.

c. Remuneration

1. Remuneration will be commensurate with qualification and experience. TA-DA will be additional.

d. Additional information

1. Posting location shall be Sambalpur, Odisha.
2. Work area will cover travel across the States of Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Odisha as part of thematic support visits to the projects. There shall be occasional visits to BAIF’s HO in Pune or other program States for facilitation, meetings, orientation, review etc.
3. Visits to project locations shall cover 10-15 days of a month.
4. This position shall report to the Regional Director – East.
