Job Description
We are seeking a Block Coordinator to support the implementation of the Full Immunization Coverage (FIC) project for Zero Dose children at the block level. Responsibilities include facilitating immunization sessions, collaborating with stakeholders, mentoring frontline workers, and driving community mobilization efforts. The role emphasizes capacity building, field supervision, data-driven monitoring, and effective stakeholder engagement to ensure program success and sustainable community impact.
Job Responsibilities
- Support Immunization Coverage: Assist in implementing the Full Immunization Coverage (FIC) project for Zero Dose children, ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Collaboration and Planning: Coordinate with block-level stakeholders, including health officials, PRIs, SHGs, and development partners, for effective immunization planning and execution.
- Field Support and Supervision: Mentor and provide supportive supervision to frontline workers such as ASHAs, ANMs, and Anganwadi Workers during Routine Immunization (RI) sessions.
- Community Mobilization and Advocacy: Engage local influencers, PRI members, SHGs, and media to promote immunization, address misconceptions, and encourage community participation.
- Training and Capacity Development: Facilitate training sessions to enhance the knowledge and skills of frontline workers, community influencers, and stakeholders in immunization and SBCC practices.
- Supervision and Monitoring: Conduct regular field visits to monitor immunization activities, adherence to schedules, and compliance with protocols and guidelines.
- Mega Camps and Special Initiatives: Organize and oversee mega immunization camps, coordinating logistics and mobilizing community participation.
- Community Feedback and Reporting: Establish systems to collect real-time community feedback, ensure timely reporting, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Risk Management and Evaluation: Identify programmatic risks, propose mitigation strategies, and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions in consultation with the District Coordinator.
- Representation and Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the organization in block-level meetings and forums, fostering collaboration with local stakeholders.
- Recognition and Motivation: Identify and reward local champions and role models to sustain momentum and motivate the community’s involvement in immunization efforts.
- Documentation and Digital Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of program activities, including digital records, reports, and success stories.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Social Work/Social Science/Public Health / Nursing / Social Work / Rural development / any other related field from a reputed university / institute.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in primary healthcare or community programs, preferably in Bihar.
- Strong understanding of health department, ICDS, SRLM, and community dynamics, with experience engaging block-level government officials.
- Hands-on experience in community mobilization, public health, and grassroots collaboration.
- Skilled in supportive supervision of FLWs, data collection, and stakeholder engagement.
- Proven ability to design and conduct training, with excellent communication and networking skills.
- Experience in routine immunization and polio eradication programs is an advantage.
