Room to Read India was established in 2003 and presently has programs in ten states – Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh.
About the Program
Room to Read’s (RtR) Literacy Program (LP) ensures that children studying in government primary schools have access to quality literature (both in Hindi and local languages) to develop sustainable reading habits in them. The program team at RtR strives to equip teachers in primary schools with skills through carefully designed and guided instructions for Early Language Development among students. Room to Read has been operational in the state of Uttarakhand since 2005 working in 08 districts and benefiting more than 70,000 children.
Background of the assignment
Room to Read Uttarakhand is supporting SCERT in conducting experiential learning training impact studies and field diaries under FL as part of the FLN mission. As a study into design to implementation this would help to identify policy-to-practice gaps. To accomplish this, we are proposing to engage a consultant/vendor for refining and preparation of high-quality reports. The process will involve multiple rounds of data analysis and iterative report writing/designing.
Scope of Work
- The consultant will follow the structure as established by RtR for task execution.
- Learning level data analysis as per baseline framework
- The consultant will collaborate on data analysis and preparation of experiential learning’s. training impact study and field diaries under FL.
Expectation:
All work requires final approval from Room to Read. The consultant will implement suggestions provided by Room to Read.
Role of RtR
- Ensure the consultant remains actively engaged throughout the project.
- Maintain adherence to deadlines for deliverables from the consultant.
- Facilitate necessary meetings between the consultant and other stakeholders.
- Review initial document drafts promptly and provide feedback to the consultant on time.Top of FormBottom of Form
- Data collation, data analysis, and report finalization.
- Field visits to understand the study and its objectives also visit education departments/SCERT to discuss findings.
- Collation of data and trends coming from the field
- Analysis of data from FL perspective.
- Learning level assessment as per baseline framework
- Writing report as per the given framework
Role of Consultant

Required Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in FL-related work will be preferable.
- Strong knowledge and expertise in FL is desirable.
- Ability to adapt content to the needs of study and in the context of the state.
- Effective data analysis and writing skills.
- Timely completion of tasks.
