About the Role

The Founder’s/CEO’s Office or Chief of Staff (CoS) will play a pivotal role in driving organizational effectiveness by acting as a strategic partner to the Founder/CEO and leadership team.

The position will be responsible for overseeing cross-functional operations, cultivating partnerships, aligning strategic priorities, managing human resources functions, and enabling strong internal programme management. The CoS will serve as an integrator across departments and as a key force multiplier for the Founder/CEO.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Organizational Alignment

  • Drive annual strategic planning processes in close collaboration with the Founder/CEO and programme team.
  • Translate organizational vision into operational plans, ensuring alignment across teams and projects.
  • Monitor progress against organizational goals and KPIs, and recommend course corrections where necessary.

Partnerships & Ecosystem Engagement

  • Build and manage strategic partnerships with:
    • Universities (domestic and international) for admissions, scholarships, and mentorship programmes.
    • Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) for outreach, student support, and programme delivery.
    • Funders, including philanthropic organizations, CSR partners, and individual donors.
  • Represent KIIF in high-level partner meetings and build long-term relationships across sectors.

Fundraising & Donor Engagement

  • Support the Founder/CEO in developing fundraising strategies.
  • Assist with donor prospecting, communications, and proposal development.
  • Coordinate internal inputs for grant proposals, donor reports, and presentations.
  • Help manage donor relationships through timely reporting and impact communication.

Programme Oversight & Internal Operations

  • Collaborate with programme leads to ensure timely and high-quality implementation of initiatives.
  • Coordinate weekly, monthly, and quarterly team meetings and progress reviews.
  • Act as the connecting link between departments to ensure coordination and information flow.
  • Support the design and rollout of new programmes and strategic pilots.

Human Resource Management

  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and team culture-building.
  • Support leadership in talent development, organizational structure, and capacity planning.
  • Build systems and processes that promote a diverse, inclusive, and high-performing workplace.

Executive Support & Organizational Effectiveness

  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to the Founder/CEO.
  • Prepare briefing notes, presentations, and strategy documents for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that are critical to organizational success.

Special Projects

  • Lead time-sensitive strategic initiatives that cut across departments.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support leadership decision-making.
  • Coordinate and monitor programme team field visits, including travel to project locations.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related discipline (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or another STEM field) is mandatory.
  • Master's degree or PhD in a STEM-related discipline, Public Policy, Development Studies, Education, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • 2–10 years of progressive experience in strategy, operations, consulting, education, or nonprofit management.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a leadership, Founder’s Office, CEO’s Office, or Chief of Staff role is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated experience managing diverse teams from varied educational, professional, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Experience working with mission-driven social sector organizations or educational equity initiatives.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • High level of discretion and ability to manage confidential information.
  • Strong values of compassion, integrity, resilience, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Firm belief in constitutional values of secularism, equality, and fraternity.
  • Scientific temperament and critical thinking skills.
  • Institution-building mindset with a hands-on approach.
  • Ability to translate empathy into action.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to remote rural areas (minimum 100 days annually). Official travel expenses will be reimbursed as per KIIF policy.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
  • Passion for KIIF's mission of creating equitable pathways for youth from underrepresented communities.
  • Based in Delhi/NCR or willing to relocate.
  • Willingness to commit to the organization for a minimum of 3–5 years.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to go beyond the call of duty and prioritize the organization's mission.

Compensation

  • Gross annual compensation: ₹6 lakh – ₹12 lakh.
  • Final compensation will be based on qualifications, relevant experience, and demonstrated competencies.
