Job Description
The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration for 2 years. There are good prospects for an extension. The place of work will be New Delhi, in India (IN). The position is paid according to Salary Group 6.
WHH is seeking to recruit a HR Officer for its India Country Liaison Office based at New Delhi, India. The aim of the position is to manage Welthungerhilfe’s personnel administration as well as some part of the day to day office administration.
Job Responsibilities
The HR Officer is responsible for managing the day-to-day HR with additional partly administrative functions of the organization. This role involves implementing HR policies, overseeing administrative tasks, supporting recruitment processes, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and company regulations. The HR Officer acts as a bridge between employees and management, fostering a positive work environment and efficient office operations.
A passionate, experienced, and result-driven professional with a strong background and first-hand experience in HR with partly administration management will have the following responsibilities:
Support employment planning and recruitment for new positions
- Assist the management in defining future personnel need (employment planning)
- Continuously review and adapt existing standard job descriptions
- Update existing standard requirement profiles for each open position
- Ensure vacancy announcements correspond to the requirement profile and Welthungerhilfe standard, publish them
- Keep the candidates informed about the selection process (acknowledgement of receipt, results)
- Pre-select candidates based on requirements and terms of reference and propose suitable candidates to the management
- Organize and participate in the selection interview
- Manage and regularly update the personnel files for Welthungerhilfe national personnel
Manage compensation and benefits issues
- Assess the competitiveness of Welthungerhilfe salaries through benchmarking with other agencies
- Document conditions for benefits to be paid and report the need for adjustments
- Keep track of host country legislation concerning compensation and benefit issues and identify need for adjustments
- Prepare Welthungerhilfe standard employment contracts (national personnel, consultants) according to specifications in the service request
- Advise the management on the proper classification of positions and/or suitable remuneration according to Welthungerhilfe’s remuneration system for national personnel and consultants
- Check contracts (legal aspects, classification, remuneration) and whether they correspond to Welthungerhilfe rules and agreements
- Submit proper contracts to the management for signature and send one copy and one original version of the contract back to the project/programme
- Monitor the contract implementation and process requests for subsequent payment
Maintain good employee relations
- Organize the election of an employee representation and inform elected representatives about important issues (upon request of the management team)
- Plan and organize the annual Welthungerhilfe get-together
Administration matter
- Coordinate travel arrangements and accommodation for staff and visitors.
- Organize and manage company events, meetings, and other activities.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Implement safety protocols and emergency procedures within the office
Others:
- Undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade and as communicated by Welthungerhilfe.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Training as described above with additional qualifications in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in HR with administration roles in a INGOs/NGOs.
- Strong understanding of HR best practices and labor laws.
- Ability to communicate in English.
- Proficiency in HRIS, Microsoft Office, and other relevant software.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism
- Proactive, self-driven, while at the same time being a good team player, highly motivated, and willing to go the extra mile.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
