About the Organization

Established in 2007, the National Health Systems Resource Centre, a premier Think Tank for MoHFW, is mandated to assist in policy and strategy development in the provision and mobilization of technical assistance to the states and in capacity building for the Ministry of Health.

Job Description/Responsibilities

• Guide technicians and microbiologists at both NCDC and the identified state Medical College laboratories.
• Supervise, if required through onsite visit, the proper functioning of the state/medical college laboratories.
• Ensure implementation of Standard Operating Procedures, Bio-Waste Management and Biosafety guidelines in hepatitis lab at NCDC.
• Ensure implementation and documentation of internal Quality control and participation in External Quality Assessment Scheme (EQAS) for Hepatitis lab at NCDC and state medical college laboratories.
• Monitoring of serology being done in Hepatitis lab at NCDC.
• Establishing molecular 'diagnostic facilities for hepatitis.
• Ensuring all data entry and analysis.
• Travel to the states/medical college labs if and when required. Any other work/activity assigned from time to time.
• Any other work/activity assigned from time to time

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• MBBS with MD/DNB in Medical Microbiology/Lab Medicine from Govt. recognized institution;

                                                  Or

• MBBS with Post Graduate Diploma such as D. Bact./D. Virology with one-year experience in clinical laboratory services;

                                                 Or

• M.Sc. in Medical Microbiology with PhD (relevant subject) Must be Proficient in computer applications (MSWord, Excel, and Power point).

Experience

• If candidate is MBBS with MD/DNB in Medical Microbiology/Lab Medicine from Govt. recognized institution- No experience is required
• If candidate is MBBS with Post Graduate Diploma such as D. Bact./D. Virology with oneyear experience in clinical laboratory services;
• If candidate is M.Sc. in Medical Microbiology with PhD (relevant subject)- Minimum twoyear experience in clinical laboratory services is required

Desirable:

• Experience of working in public health systems, implementation of laboratory quality assurance systems, assessing and organizing training programs.

Salary

Rs. 1 lakh per month consolidated (No other allowances are permissible)
