Job Position: Manager- Water Conservation and Sustainability

Location: Mumbai

Salary: INR 7.80 LPA to 10.40 LPA (Depending on Experience)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager – Water Conservation & Sustainability to lead the design, development, and implementation of CSR and sustainability programmes focused on water security, watershed development, climate resilience, natural resource management, and sustainable agriculture. The role requires a blend of technical expertise, stakeholder management, project leadership, and business development to deliver scalable and measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Programme Design & Management
  • Lead the conceptualization, planning, and implementation of water conservation and sustainability projects across multiple geographies.
  • Design integrated watershed management, groundwater recharge, rainwater harvesting, spring rejuvenation, water-use efficiency, and climate resilience initiatives.
  • Ensure timely execution of projects in line with agreed milestones, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Develop annual work plans, implementation frameworks, and project timelines.
• Technical Leadership
  • Provide technical guidance on:
    • Watershed Development
    • Rainwater Harvesting
    • Groundwater Recharge
    • River and Lake Rejuvenation
    • Soil & Water Conservation
    • Water Budgeting
    • Climate Adaptation
    • Sustainable Agriculture
    • Natural Resource Management
    • Biodiversity Conservation
  • Review technical reports, DPRs, feasibility studies, and implementation plans.
  • Ensure projects align with national guidelines and sustainability best practices.
• CSR & Partnership Development
  • Develop strategic partnerships with corporates, CSR foundations, government departments, NGOs, technical institutions, and implementation partners.
  • Identify and pursue new CSR opportunities in water stewardship, environmental sustainability, and climate action.
  • Lead proposal development, concept notes, presentations, budgets, and client pitches.
  • Build and manage long-term relationships with clients and donors.
• Project Monitoring & Evaluation
  • Monitor project implementation through regular field visits.
  • Develop project monitoring tools and performance indicators.
  • Ensure timely reporting on outputs, outcomes, and impact.
  • Coordinate third-party evaluations and impact assessments where required.
• Stakeholder Engagement
  • Liaise with Corporate CSR teams, Government departments, District Administration, Gram Panchayats, Community institutions, NGOs
  • Facilitate community participation and institutional strengthening.
  • Represent the organization in meetings, conferences, and sector forums.

Qualifications & Experience

• Master's degree in development studies, water resource management, sustainable agriculture, environment, rural development
• 4 years of experience in CSR consulting, development-sector research, fundraising/partnerships, or programme management, water resource management, sustainability.
• Experience in managing large-scale CSR or donor-funded projects is preferred.
• Prior experience working with corporates, government agencies, NGOs, or consulting organizations is desirable.
• Proven proposal and report-writing ability; excellent written English and working Hindi (Marathi an advantage).
• Knowledge of GIS, remote sensing, or hydrological modelling will be an added advantage.
• Willingness to travel for events, district visits, and partner meetings.
