Safe In India Foundation promotes workplace safety in the auto sector supply chain and facilitates access to ESIC social security benefits including healthcare services for workers based on our on-the- ground experience of assisting injured/disabled workers with their ESIC healthcare/compensation. We aim to help improve Indian Labour Productivity (133rd), with focus on the auto-sector supply chain, to reduce accidents, support achievement of SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and help in improving ESIC’s services nationally for 3.5 crore workers and their families. Increasing awareness of safer work practices and ESIC services mainly among workers (also other stakeholders) and empowering them with knowledge is a key driver for achieving these aims.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Project Coordinator to manage and oversee a large-scale project aimed at training 10,000 factory workers on safety protocols and the benefits of Employee State Insurance Corporation (ESIC). The role involves coordinating training sessions across multiple industrial hubs in Haryana (Gurgaon, Manesar, Faridabad, Dharuhera, and Bhawal), ensuring smooth operations, adherence to timelines, and effective communication with stakeholders and support the Lead – Training for the project. The ideal candidate will have experience in project coordination, preferably familiarity with labour welfare laws, and an understanding of safety standards. More specifically, the Key Responsibilities would include:

  1. 1.       Project Planning & Scheduling:
  • Develop a comprehensive project plan and timeline for training sessions across the locations
  • Conduct a mapping exercise to understand the residential and workplace distribution of auto and manufacturing sector workers in 6 blocks of the project locations
  • Recruiting and managing a team of part time community mobilisers and trainers, from the workers community
  • Mobilising workers to participate in the training programmes
  1.  
    • Coordinate logistics, including venue booking, transportation, and training materials for the workshops and events
  2. Training Coordination:
    • Organize training schedules, ensuring timely delivery of sessions across all locations
    • Liaise with trainers and subject matter experts for drawing up the curriculum on safety protocols and ESIC benefits

 

  1. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Collaborate with factory managers, HR representatives, Contractors, Shramik Saathins, and Executive Operations in HQ to align training content and ensure worker participation
    • Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, providing updates and addressing concerns
    • Provide an update on post meeting decisions and action points for follow up and next steps 
  2. Resource Management:
    • Manage project resources, including budget allocation for training materials, transportation, and other logistics costs as per the project budget
    • Ensure availability of training materials, equipment, and on-site support for smooth sessions
    • Making sure that the expenses are incurred with prior approvals and approved for payment as per norms of SII
  3. Data Collection & Reporting:
    • Track and document attendance, feedback, and training outcomes for each session
    • Prepare and present regular project progress reports, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations
  4. Risk Management:
    • Identify potential risks or challenges related to project execution and proactively address them in consultation with Lead Training and Head of Operations
    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and safety guidelines
  5. Monitoring & Evaluation:
    • Design and conduct post-training evaluations to assess the effectiveness of sessions and collect feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Assist the Project Lead in implementing quality assurance mechanisms including surveys.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work / Development Studies / Humanities/ Business Administration, or a related field. Certification in Project Management or prior experience in project coordination would be an added plus
  • 2-4 years of full-time work experience, in project coordination or management, preferably in training / worker empowerment / skill development / motivating communities to participate/ be able to bring back feedback / capacity building in a non-profit would have an added advantage
  • Safety/ESIC experience is desirable but not a must
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Strong communication skills in both Hindi and English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools /method
