Introduction

We solve the waste management crisis of the Indian Himalayan Region. Our work lies at the intersection of Climate Change, Biodiversity Habitat Conservation, and Informal livelihoods. With a team of 200+ Warriors spread across various locations nestled in the beautiful landscapes of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, we strive to create effective waste management solutions across urban and rural landscapes, with a special focus on eco-sensitive and tourist areas.

Position Brief:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Project Manager with expertise in managing projects in challenging mountain terrain with the bent of mind to work in development sector. The ideal candidate should possess strong project management abilities and the capability to lead teams effectively in remote and rugged environments. This role requires a combination of technical knowledge, practical experience, and physical endurance to successfully execute and deliver projects in demanding conditions in remote and tough terrains.

Responsibilities of the Project Manager

• Responsible for end to end management of the project

• Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.

• • Oversee the execution of project activities, ensuring adherence to schedules and quality standards.

  • Strategize the project implementation approach and phases, in order to achieve the project sustainability goal

  • Develop tools and systems to record on-ground activities and their impact

  • Lead and manage project teams, providing clear direction and support.

  • Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment, ensuring effective communication and coordination.

  • Conduct regular team meetings and performance evaluations.

  • Coordinate with Partners time to time to provide health of the project, ask and challenges

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly progress reports and present to the project stakeholders and Partners.

  • Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.

  • Prepare and submit financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational standards.

  • Weekly meeting with entire team, to review the project deliverables and planning for next week

  • Strategizing the expansion of existing projects

  • Working in partnership with internal and external and government agencies to further increase the reach of WW projects

  • Meeting with different stakeholders like Gram Pradhan, Tourist Departments, Forest department, Local important stakeholders for bringing convergence through different government schemes and initiatives

  • Maintain regular contact and liaison with important stakeholders like government officials, Pradhan, DMC, Block Officers, Panchayati Raj Officials, Administrative Officers, Rural Development Department etc.

  A Successful Candidate Should Have: 

  • Graduation Degree

  • Genuine interest to work in the social sector

  • Passion to work for environmental and climate change

  • • Good Communication skills in English and Hindi

    • Prior experience in planning, development, and management

    • Basic knowledge of waste management and eager to learn more

    • Skills to identify and mitigate risks associated with working in mountainous terrain.

    • Physical fitness to 

    • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing conditions 

    • Ability to work in high-altitude, rugged, and remote mountain terrain.

    • Physical fitness to handle strenuous activities and adverse weather conditions navigate challenging landscapes

    • Sound knowledge and understanding of information technology
