About Wildlife Conservation Trust
Using the Tiger as a metaphor for all of nature, Wildlife Conservation Trust (WCT) was envisioned to preserve and protect India’s rich natural heritage. Currently, WCT works in and around 160 Protected Areas across 23 states in the country covering 82% of India’s 51 tiger reserves, 21% of the 769 Protected Areas, and impacting a population base of approximately 3.5 million people. WCT aims to reduce anthropogenic pressure on forests through a scientifically rooted 360-degree approach involving the multiple stakeholders such as the forest department, local communities, corporates and other NGOs, with a firm belief in landscape-level conservation.

Responsibilities
- This full-time position will be mostly desk-based, in Nashik, Maharashtra, and may involve occasional trips for fieldwork to WCT field sites across the country.
- The work involves assisting in design, development & replication of innovative technologies in wildlife conservation and ecological monitoring, with an emphasis on electronics assembly and programming.
- Candidates should be skilled in practical & applied electronics, proficient in at least one programming language: ideally Python or MATLAB, familiar with programming and workings of sensors, microcontrollers and microprocessors like Raspberry Pi, ESP 32, Arduino etc. Candidates should have effective communication skills in English/ Hindi. The field of tech innovation in environmental monitoring and mitigation solutions has tremendous future scope for professional growth and development, as a career choice. Fresh graduates will, if selected, gain tremendously in developing an inter-disciplinary research and synthesis skill set, across engineering fields, project management, computation, material sciences, and ecological sciences. This can help them in becoming capable and well suited for a wide range of job prospects in the future.
